This level of direct Governmental research funding is pitiful on all fronts!
In the past we've been told through NIHR that this is due to 'insufficient quality of applications' or simply that the 'science is not there'
Over the past decade and with YOUR support luckily we have added over £2.1m for specific DIPG research and clinical trial support.
We must ask ourselves whether this gauntlet that numerous DIPG families pick up worldwide, really should be for those who've already suffered the worst imagineable losses, in the worst circumstances. Imagine knowing those figures and currently being in the fight!
We do acknowledge in the oral question response the 'indirect' Governmental funding support, and infrastructure provision that does underpin the delivery of any brain tumour studies within the NHS.
The more pertinent question for us however is, within the 261 studies that were delivered in the decade between 2014/15 and 2024/25....
How many were for children, or had any relevance to DIPG?
You can write to your MP's and push the agenda for all patients by asking them to support the debate on Monday 15th June.
