Well done Logan from all of us at Carsington Sailabilty, see you on the Hansa Class UK TT circuit later this year.

Today is - a chance to promote autism acceptance, support, and understanding through education and inclusion!

We'd like to celebrate today by sharing the story of Logan⛵.

Logan describes his younger self as someone who struggled with new environments, new people and changes in routine. When he started sailing, it took time to build trust and relationships, but one small step led to another, and within his first season he had already achieved far more than anyone expected.

He found freedom and something that no other sport or hobby had been able to give him. Sailing didn't just give him a hobby, it allowed him to have a focus, build relationships/ friendships, develop skills and most importantly find a real passion.

Sailability gave Logan a sense of belonging in a community that now stretches globally. He has just completed his 10th year sailing and his goals and hopes for future achievements continue to grow.

Logan is proof that sailing is and can be for everyone!💙

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Sailability. So many different types of people give their time to support sailors in getting on the water - and there is a role for everyone, on or off the water! So if you've been thinking of joining, but perhaps you're not an avid sailor (yet!) there's still a space for you here!💙

On the water you could help with:
⛵Instructing and coaching
⛵Helming and crewing
⛵Race management
⛵Safety boat crew

Off the water you could help with:
⭐Preparing boats and handing out kits to sailors
⭐Provide a warm welcome and contact point for enquiries
⭐Help maintain boats
⭐Help with membership schemes, handling monies fundraised, ensure legislation and regulations are complied with etc.
⭐Digital, communications and marketing to spread the word of your club

Or even providing a nice warm cup of tea and a homemade bake - especially on those chilly days!☕🍰

There's so many roles available at your local club, so please do reach out if you think you could help!

With Carsington Sailing Club – we just got recognised as one of their top fans! 🎉 we are looking forward to an exciting 2026 Season on the water and our new boat project for which we are looking to still raise much needed funds to make it happen.

We are looking to purchase a new Hawk20 cruiser to enhance our group visit capacity and intro even more people to the joys, excitement, freedom and exhilaration of getting out in the water in whatever capacity suits their abilities and desires/dreams 🥳⛵️⛵️
