🐾 LOOKING FOR A DOG WALKER? 🐾

We’d love to introduce you to Iwona, the lovely lady who fosters our longest-stay dog, Nino, and who has recently taken the plunge into the world of professional dog walking with Steady Steps Canine Services! ❤️

Iwona’s journey with Nino is a perfect example of why understanding our dogs and their individual needs is so important.

When Nino was at Just For Dogs, he loved his walks along our quiet country lanes. However, once he began his foster journey, walking in busier areas proved challenging and caused his stress levels to rise. Over time, he became increasingly difficult to handle.

Rather than giving up, Iwona sought advice from Holly at Grounded Canine and worked hard to understand Nino’s needs. With patience, understanding and the right guidance, they’ve made fantastic progress, and now both Iwona and Nino can enjoy their outdoor adventures to the full! 🐶❤️

It’s this kind of experience that makes Iwona so well placed to understand dogs who may need a little extra patience, reassurance and understanding.

This is a message from Rosemary Birnie, one of our adopters and longterm supporters.

‘Fancy a good night out in November? An evening of food, dancing, good company and the chance to win in a fantastic prize draw. Maybe you've not yet decided when/ where to hold your work Christmas party? You could have all this and help the wonderful Just For Dogs charity, raise much needed funds.
Maybe, like me, you make a charity donation for Christmas? This year your donation could buy you a night out aswell.
Just For Dogs are a brilliant, local, charity, who rehome dogs who have endured the most horrendous lives, literally, in many cases, saving them from certain death. The staff and volunteers at Just For Dogs, work incredibly hard and give so much love, to these dogs, from the moment they arrive and step, confused and frightened, from the transport. As you can probably imagine, their running costs for the kennels and the vets bill, are eye wateringly high.
This year, is their first attempt at raising vital funds, through a Gala Dinner, so I'm asking all..
Please support them, if you can.
£20 wouldn't buy you a meal out, you certainly wouldn't get entertainment aswell! Get a group of friends/ work colleagues together and start Christmas celebrations early. Your £20 ticket could probably be the difference between a dogs life being saved or left behind.

ANOTHER OPEN DAY SUCCESS 💖

‘Well… that escalated quickly! 🐾🧡

Last Sunday, we went along to the open day with absolutely NO intention of coming home with a dog anytime soon. Famous last words. 😂

Naturally, I fell in love with EVERY SINGLE DOG. I spotted Scamp first and wanted to take him for a walk, but thought I’d have a little wander around before deciding.

And then… we met Freya. 🧡

Fast forward a few days, and this morning we picked up our beautiful girl and brought her home. Safe to say, our hearts are VERY full. 🥹

So far, we've established that toys are highly suspicious, a muddy corner of the garden is apparently prime real estate, and the underfloor heating is quite possibly the greatest invention known to dogkind. 😂🐶

She's already settling in, finding her feet and, more importantly, wrapping us around her little paws. She's got absolutely no idea just how spoilt she's about to be!

I'll undoubtedly be boring you all with Freya updates, a ridiculous number of photos and approximately 700 questions about dog ownership. So consider this your warning! 😂

On that note, if anyone knows of any brilliant secure dog fields worth visiting, please send your recommendations our way!

We went to that open day thinking we'd just have a look. Instead, we found a little girl who needed a forever home, and it turns out we needed her just as much. 🧡

Welcome home, Freya. You'll never have to wonder where you belong or worry about being alone again. You've got us forever. ‘🐾🧡

Amber is still waiting for her happy ending… 🤎

Once upon a time, Amber and her daughter Coco were waiting together, hoping that one day their lives would change.✨

And then Coco’s forever family came along. 🥹🤎 She was adopted, and she’s now living her very best life - surrounded by love, comfort and everything she deserves.

We couldn’t be happier for Coco… but there’s one thought that stays with us.

We want the same for Amber.🥰

Amber has been waiting since arriving in February 2025. She’s a beautiful, devoted girl, born on 12.03.2019, with a huge heart and so much love to give to the person she trusts.

She’s a true guardian at heart - loyal, affectionate with her family and naturally protective of those she loves. At home, she’s a wonderfully chilled-out girl who enjoys nothing more than relaxing, napping and having peaceful time with her people. 🐾

For the right person, Amber could be an incredibly special companion.

She needs a calm and predictable home, with adults or older children aged 16+, secure outdoor space and adopters who are physically strong enough to manage her size and strength. She is tolerant of dogs, while her feelings about cats are currently unknown.🐾

Coco has found her people. She has her home. She has her happy ending. 🤎

Now it’s Amber’s turn.🥹

Somewhere out there is the person who will look at Amber, understand her, respect her boundaries and realise just how special she really is.✨

Please don’t let this girl be overlooked. Please share her. Her forever family could be reading this right now. 🏡🤎

📞 A LITTLE PHONE SYSTEM UPDATE 📞

We just wanted to let you all know that, unfortunately, our phone system is currently down, which means we are unable to make or receive calls at the moment. 😔

The engineers are due to be with us tomorrow between 8am and 1pm, and we’re really hoping they’ll be able to get everything back up and running for us. 🤞❤️

Thanks to our wonderfully well-supported Open Day, and every single like, share and bit of love that helped spread the word, our Marvellous Monty has only gone and landed himself a dream life! 🏡

From waiting patiently at JFD… to discovering that his very own particular dream really does exist! ✨

And judging by that face, we think Monty is rather pleased with himself! 😍

🐾❤️ LILY’S WHIRLWIND JOURNEY

Wednesday: Lily left Romania — the country where she was born — and began her journey to a brand-new life. 🇷🇴🚐🇬🇧

Saturday: Lily arrived at Just For Dogs. A little bewildered, a little unsure, but ready to see what life had in store for her.

Sunday: Just ONE day later, Lily stole someone’s heart at our Open Day… and she got herself reserved! 🥰

And then TODAY…
✨ Lily left the building! ✨

Off she went to start her new life in Cheshire, surrounded by her very own family, lots of love and all the little things she’s been waiting for.

From Romania ➡️ JFD ➡️ RESERVED ➡️ HOME in just a few days!

What an incredible whirlwind! 🥹❤️

Lily, we think you’ve hit the jackpot!

Go and live your very best life, beautiful girl.
You deserve every single bit of happiness coming your way.

So many of our wonderful dogs got the ultimate treat at today’s Open Day - finding their forever homes. 🐾

For those still waiting, there was at least a delicious doggy treat to end the day with! 🦴 Because while a tasty treat might make their tails wag for a moment, what they’re really waiting for is the one treat that matters most - a family to call their own.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along to support Just for Dogs today, whether you came to meet the dogs, offered a donation, bought something, volunteered your time, shared our posts, or simply showed your support. Every bit of support helps us continue caring for these wonderful dogs and, most importantly, helps us get one step closer to finding them their forever homes. 🤍

Our dogs had such a wonderful day meeting so many kind faces, soaking up the attention, and showing everyone just how special they are.
