We know. We’re sorry.
But it’s only (checks notes) 84 days until Christmas and 72 days until our festive family concert (Sunday 13 December in case you’re wondering).
And if we have to rehearse Christmas music in October, you have to listen to it. 😬

Yep, it’s that time of year when orchestras start edging reluctantly towards Christmas performances… Seems wrong to be playing carols in September, so we keep the festive music in our folders to a minimum until after half-term at least.
Having said that, we are working towards a concert in December, and Beatlecracker won’t rehearse itself. 🎻 🎺 🪊

Reminder to players that unfortunately the planned Strings sectional on 17 Sept is cancelled - circs beyond our control etc. - but we’ll be back in full rehearsal on 25 Sept.

📆 Save the date! 📆

We're already planning our next concert, joining with our friends in Wirksworth Community Choir for a feast of festive music and refreshments.

St Mary's Church, Wirksworth, Sunday 13 December - keep the date free!

Wanna hear some highlights?

Our Musical Director Adam Green put together this little reel for us, with some musical moments from our summer concert at The Link Centre Ashbourne. We think we sound pretty good. 🥰

We've got a few more clips and photos to share over the summer, and then we'll be back rehearsing in September ready for our Christmas concert (watch out for details).

Have a fabulous and musical summer!

First violins, 24 bars rest, what dis?
Everyone knows we only ever have to count up to 8…

Last rehearsal before the hols, after our summer concert, playing a bit of Grieg for giggles.
We’ll be back to rehearsal in the autumn, starting on the pieces for our Christmas concert in Wirksworth in December (details to follow).
In the meantime - have a great summer!

And that's a wrap! 🎉👏

We had a great time playing at The Link Centre Ashbourne on Sunday afternoon! If you came along, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone involved - conductor, musicians, friends/family, committee members, cake bakers, ticket sellers, venue staff, and everyone who sat in a hot stuffy hall on a Sunday afternoon to listen to us. We appreciate you all.

We'll be uploading more images and some audio soon, so watch out for that - as well as a December date for your diary. Yes, we're already thinking about our Christmas concert...🎄🧑‍🎄

It’s time to tell you about the amazing venue for our concert in July. The Link Centre is recently opened in the centre of Ashbourne, a beautiful community hub in its first season, and we’re delighted to be part of their summer programme.

We’re taking over the Trinity Hall on Sunday 12 July, hopefully filling it with audience and music, but there’s so much else going on at the Link all summer.

Do check out their website to find out about all their events (and our ticket link!):
