🇬🇧 D-DAY 82ND ANNIVERSARY 🇬🇧

Today, we mark the 82nd Anniversary of D-Day, the largest amphibious invasion in history.
On 6 June 1944, thousands of brave British, Commonwealth, American and Allied servicemen landed on the beaches of Normandy and began the liberation of Western Europe from N**i occupation.

Many would never return home, giving their lives so that future generations could live in freedom.
As members and supporters of the Royal British Legion, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice and determination of all those who took part in Operation Overlord.

We also remember the families who waited anxiously at home and the veterans whose service shaped the world we live in today.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."
