🔹 Event: 20th Anniversary of the formation of Inner Wheel Club of Petra
🔹 IW Egypt & Jordan, District 95

A 20th Anniversary celebration on 19 May 2026 was organised by the Inner Wheel Club of Petra President, Mai Al-Masri, and her Executive Committee and held at the Royal Automobile Museum in Amman. Present were members from the Inner Wheel Clubs of Amman, Philadelphia and Black Iris.

The highlight of the event was the appreciation and recognition of District Chairman Samia Abu El Fotouh who established several Clubs in 2006 in Egypt and Jordan. Ghania Al-Tayeh, Alia Abu Al-Ragheb, Sineen Shahabi, and Dina Al-Alwneh were honoured as founding members of their respective Clubs.

Congratulations were extended to Mayada Touqan as incoming Vice-Chairman and Nahla Qubain on her successful election as a member of the International Governing Body. Several other members also received pins and accolades.

The evening concluded with guests enjoying a delightful dinner accompanied by music.

International Inner Wheel congratulates Inner Wheel Club of Petra for their 20 years of friendship and service in humanitarian work.

🔹 Event: Nurturing the young in good hygiene

🔹 Inner Wheel Club of Sta. Maria, District 377

Club President Felinda V Correa and members of the Inner Wheel Club of Sta. Maria demonstrated their unwavering commitment to community service by building a handwashing area for Cay Pombo Elementary School. The project involved teamwork, responsibility and shared commitment to community service. The aim was to foster a basic, yet essential, healthy practice to support a safe learning environment for the entire school community.

This project is an example of how the strong community partnerships of Inner Wheel Clubs can create meaningful and lasting impact.

🔹 Event: Mentorship Bridges, Not Walls
🔹 IW Croatia and IW Italy

On 21 March 2026 at the Palazzo Paternò in Caserta, Italy, an 8-year-old friendship was renewed ceremonially in an elegant setting. District Chairmen Sandra Neretljaković (District 191, IW Croatia) and Trofimena Forte (District 210, IW Italy) reaffirmed a friendship founded on shared values, cooperation, and mutual respect. A delegation of 26 members from IW Croatia and 11 members from IW Italy witnessed the event. In the exchange of mementoes, District 210 presented a special plaque. The delegation from IW Croatia presented a monograph in Italian, "Croatia – Christianity, History and Art", published for an exhibition at the Vatican, together with a replica of the Baptismal Font of Prince Višeslav, one of Croatia’s most treasured historical and cultural symbols.

The Croatian members also visited the magnificent Royal Palace of Caserta, Naples, Sorrento, and Pompeii. Such was the memorable and warm hospitality extended by the Italian friends. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine desire to make every guest feel welcome transformed the visit into a true celebration of friendship. The fellowship will be remembered as a beautiful combination of culture, history, and human connection, qualities that reflect the very essence of Inner Wheel.

The renewal of this friendship agreement once again demonstrated how Inner Wheel connects women of different cultures and languages through the shared ideals of friendship, service, and international understanding. By building bridges across borders, we create lasting relationships that continue to inspire and unite future generations.

🔹 Event: High Fashion and Philanthropy at Fundraising Gala

🔹 Inner Wheel Club of Kale

An exclusive evening organised by the Inner Wheel Club of Kale, under the sponsorship of the Derya Group, took place at the poolside of Paşa Hotel in Nicosia. It attracted significant attention with the evening gown fashion show and gala dinner. Models from Hayriye Vurdu Agency walked the red carpet, showcasing the season’s most elegant evening wear designs.

The most striking moment of the night occurred during the finale. Models stood on stage holding cards that read, “Peace is the Most Powerful Form of Elegance” and “True Elegance is Completed with Peace". Those powerful visual statements, combined with the host’s speech, created an impactful and memorable moment appreciated by the press and promoted on social media.

Club President Derya Alp emphasised that the evening was not merely an aesthetic event, but also a platform to highlight the importance of women’s solidarity, social awareness, and messages of peace. Guests were elated to hear that the proceeds of their contributions will support the club’s ongoing Greening Project.

The excitement of the evening peaked when a lucky guest won a beautiful, original piece of art by the famous Ruzen Atakan in a raffle.

A unique partnership of Inner Wheel Clubs
🔹 IW Germany and IW Italy

Both Inner Wheel Districts have had partnership meetings since 2017, marked by reciprocal visits. The gathering in 2019 in Verona, Italy, was the last before COVID-19. In 2024, the gatherings restarted in Constance, Germany. There are difficulties to overcome in developing an international understanding. The differences in language, work commitments and the ageing membership of some Clubs pose major obstacles. The good news is, many Clubs in Germany and Italy are still seeking each other out.

At the end of April this year, members of IW Germany were invited to the meeting in Galzignano Terme, a province of Padua, Italy. A club partnership was signed between the IWC Cremona and IWC Ravensburg (photo 1). With a certificate signed by both Clubs, there is thus a "promise" of regular exchange and mutual visits to deepen the friendship, foster cooperation and strengthen international understanding.

FRIENDSHIP across borders
🔹 Inner Wheel Clubs of Kybele (District 222, IW Northern Cyprus) and Urla (District 244, IW Turkiye)

On 24 April 2026, members from IWC Urla visited the members of Kybele at the Köstem Olive Oil Museum. As Clubs with friendship and cooperation agreements, the meeting strengthened bonds of sisterhood where they shared ideas for joint projects in a very enjoyable ambience. On behalf of her members, IWC Urla President Selin Karaosmanoğlu Sapçı thanks Güler Köstem, Nilüfer Köstem and their members for their warm hospitality.
