2050 Climate Group Engaging, educating and empowering young people in Scotland to take action on climate change. https://linktr.ee/2050climategroup

We work with young people across the country, engaging, educating, and empowering them to lead the transformation of Scotland into a low carbon country. Our aim is to inspire young people to get involved not only in the 2050 Group, but in the design of future policy in Scotland, becoming catalysts for change to ensure a sustainable future for the country beyond the year 2050.

This weekend some of our Climate Action Leadership Programme (CALP) volunteers met up for an intensive planning day. There's a LOT that goes into organising CALP and while the majority of our meetings are online there's nothing quite like an in-person planning day.

The team also took some time to reflect on what they wanted to gain from volunteering for the duration of CALP; so that we can ensure it's a valuable experience for everyone involved.

Applicants will be contracted this week with the outcome, make sure your inbox is able to receive emails from [email protected] 💌

Southside Climate Café August 2026 🫖

We had a brilliant day on Sunday for the seconds Southside Climate Café. The day was made all the sweeter with the addition of tasty vegan treats from. Katie's Traveling Teahouse! 🧁🍪

Climate change can be a different topic for many of us, but by creating a safe space for open conversations we can foster community and take action.

As well as the organising team helping to facilitate disscusons, the day was also joined by Councillor Jon Molyneux and MSP Holly Bruce who provided many great insights into politics in Glasgow.*

We had a lot of interesting discussions ranging from hyper-local issues such as transport links to the bigger picture food systems we operate in and so much more in between. We also discussed the Stop Rosebank campaign to put an end to new oil and gas extractions.

The Southside Climate Café team is formed of dedicated volunteers taking their own time to plan and deliver these events. The group was initially formed during the Climate Action Leadership Programme (CALP) and has continued since the team graduated in March. It's since expanded and looking to grow as an offiak Climate Café™ branch! Find out more about CALP and the first climate cafe by the action groupon the 2050 Climate Group website.

Please note that 2050 Climate Group is apolitical and this event was not affiliated with the Scottish Green party despite two representative attending. This was an open event for any and all politicians in Glasgow.

Caitlin has even come back to CALP modules as a guest speaker, sharing her experience in marine conservation. We don't just support participants to graduate from our learning programme; we stay connected and continue to provide opportunities to our young climate leaders whenever possible.

The Young Leaders Development Programme (YLDP) was the previous iteration of our free leadership programme. After several years, we ended the YLDP to build our knowledge and skills and create an even more impactful programme for Scotland's young climate leaders!

We know that raising children can be hard, that's why we want to make it as easy as possible for parents/carers/guardians to take climate action! 🫶

We can support young (18-35 years old) parents and carers to access this opportunity in a variety of ways:

1. Our Participation Fund exists to remove financial barriers such as covering travel and childcare costs.
2. Our Flexible format is designed to fit around your home and work life, not the other way round.
3. Bring them with you option, if childcare isn't an option we can support you to bring your young ones along for in person events (some field trips are not suitable for this option due to certain activities).

Don't just take our word for it, hear from some of the parents/carers/guardians who have been participants....

Find out more and apply on our website, link in our bio. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out to our team by email: [email protected]
