Our vision is to co-create a thriving and positive future for people, planet and community. Our mission is to deliver empowering and creative community-led change to improve the food system and facilitate positive climate action. Our 5 mission areas are:
-Tyfu– meaning “grow” or “growing”. We want to increase the amount of food grown in the area to improve local food resilience. We also provide c
ommunity growing and gardening spaces to support people’s health and wellbeing through our Tyfu Aber Grow project.
-Cylchol- meaning “circular”. We are passionate about facilitating a circular food system - using fewer resources, minimising waste and creating value from waste. We celebrate seed saving, create compost, and collect, distribute and share surplus food through a community pantry open to all.
-Lleol– meaning “local”. We champion food sovereignty, a people over profit approach to our food system where communities have control over how their food is produced, traded and consumed. Through Bwyd Dyfi Hub, we provide fair access to market for local growers, farmers and entrepreneurs committed to organic and agroecological practices.
-Casglu– meaning “gather”. We have a community hub space, a physical multi-purpose building aiming to revitalise the high street. We collaborate and connect with others to organise inspiring community events and activities, share stories, and love to bring people together over healthy and nutritious food.
-Dysgu– meaning “learn” or “learning”. Creating a space and culture where shared learning is central. We offer a kitchen space, food skills programmes and workshops, and opportunities for learning to enhance our collective knowledge and community resilience. These 5 areas are not distinct boundaries, but interconnect and overlap with each other, forming our holistic mission-based approach to deliver meaningful change.
