It was an honour for our team in Kenya to welcome Andy and Maggie Patience, and their son Jordan, once again and show them around the various projects and homes supported through their fundraising.
This visit felt especially emotional, as they remembered their son, Lewis, who sadly passed away last year. Over 10 days there was laughter, tears, love, and reflection shared among their extended family, including Lewis' partner Vicky, who travelled from Scotland to see firsthand how the £17,000 raised in Lewis’s memory has been used to provide four families with safe new homes.
We cannot thank them enough for entrusting us with such an important and deeply personal task.
James, our Karatina Operations Manager, shared:
“It was truly a blessing to spend this time together and reconnect with a family who carries Lewis’s memory so dearly. Seeing everyone again brought so much joy and love. We are deeply grateful for your kindness, hospitality, and the unity you continue to show. May you be abundantly blessed.”
David, our Iten Operations Manager, added:
“They were some of the best guests I have ever hosted. It was understandably very emotional at times, especially seeing the homes built in memory of Lewis. We were able to visit twelve families, and Andy, Maggie, and the group generously provided food packages to each of them. Their minister, Rev Andrea, offered words of encouragement and prayers while blessing the homes, a tradition here in Kenya, and we shared many lovely meals together.”
Lewis’s memory now lives on not only in the hearts of his family and friends, but also in the lives of the families whose futures have been changed through this incredible act of love and generosity.
Thank you, Andy, Maggie, and the entire Patience family, for allowing something so heartbreaking to become something that brings hope to others. 🧡
