🕊️ Part 5 🤍FUNERAL PREPARATIONS | DRAUBUTA VILLAGE, TOKATOKA, TAILEVU

Preparations are still underway this morning here at Draubuta Village, Tokatoka, Tailevu, as family members, relatives and friends work together in preparation for today’s funeral service of the late Mrs Melaia Vugone Matakibau.

From preparing the meals and traditional arrangements to setting up the family home, everyone is lending a helping hand as the family prepares to farewell their beloved mother, grandmother, relative and friend.

Despite the rainy weather, the spirit of veiwekani, loloma and working together continues throughout the preparations.

PART 2 | ARRIVAL HOME — DRAUBUTA VILLAGE,TOKATOKA, TAILEVU 🕊️

The final journey of our beloved Mrs Melaia Vugone Matakibau continued as she arrived at her residence in Draubuta Village, Tokatoka, Tailevu, where family members, relatives and village elders were gathered awaiting her arrival.

Upon reaching home, the traditional i Vakasobu for the late Mrs Melaia Vugone Matakibau was presented and carried out, marking her return home and the beginning of the traditional funeral proceedings.

An emotional evening as family and loved ones gathered to welcome her home for the final time. 🕊️🤍
