Today, on Vietnam Veterans’ Day, the Bilo Bar Club pauses to recognise and honour all those who served during the Vietnam War.

We especially acknowledge the Vietnam veterans within our Bilo Bar Club family, and remember those who did not return home, those who have since passed, and the families who shared in their sacrifice.

Vietnam Veterans’ Day is commemorated on 18 August, marking the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan in 1966.

To all who served; thank you for your courage, service and sacrifice.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming a number of new members into The Bilo Bar Club family.

For 45 years, this club has brought together people connected by friendship, community, Fiji, and a shared passion for giving back. It’s wonderful to see that spirit continuing as new members join our growing family and become part of the next chapter of the club’s story.

To all of our newest members — welcome. We thank you for your support, your enthusiasm, and your commitment to the values and charitable work of The Bilo Bar Club.

From supporting education initiatives and community projects in Fiji, to preserving the unique friendships and traditions that make this club so special, we look forward to sharing many great memories together in the years ahead.

Last week marked a truly special milestone with the official opening of the Cuvu Community Learning Centre in Fiji. 🇫🇯

Proudly funded, built and provisioned by The Bilo Bar Club, the centre has been created to provide free tutoring, mentoring and educational support to local children who need a little extra assistance and encouragement in their learning journey.

What began as a vision many years ago has now become a reality — a safe and welcoming place where young people can learn, grow and build confidence for the future. The centre will be operated by an incredible team of volunteer retired teachers and community supporters whose dedication and passion will make a lasting difference.

The opening ceremony was a proud and emotional occasion for members of The Bilo Bar Club, local community leaders, supporters, volunteers and guests who have all played a part in bringing this project to life.

This initiative represents exactly what The Bilo Bar Club has stood for over the past 45 years — community, friendship and giving back to the people of Fiji.

Vinaka vakalevu to everyone who has contributed to making the Cuvu Community Learning Centre possible. This is only the beginning. ❤️

This month, The Bilo Bar Club proudly celebrates 45 years of friendship, community and service.

To mark this incredible milestone, members gathered on the very same tennis court grass where the club was first formed 45 years ago. From humble beginnings on Yanuca Island to becoming a registered charity supporting communities across Fiji, it was a special moment to reflect on the journey, the memories, and the people who have made it all possible.

For generations, members and supporters have shared laughter, stories, fundraising efforts, and a deep connection to Fiji and its people. Today, that legacy continues through projects supporting education, community development and opportunity for those who need it most.

To every past and present member, supporter, volunteer and friend of the club — vinaka vakalevu. Thank you for being part of 45 remarkable years.
