Two days. One climate journey. 🌍

On 29–30 October, 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 invites young people to explore how climate decisions are discussed, negotiated and put into practice.

𝟮𝟵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿: 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗖𝗢𝗣) 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Step into climate negotiations and work across five themes: agriculture & food, mobility, digital inclusion, green jobs, and adaptation & resilience. Each group will develop concrete policy recommendations that will feed into a Rural Youth Policy Manifesto. 🌱🗣️

You’ll also explore the geopolitics of climate change, climate democracy, international cooperation, COP history, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement.
We’ll be joined by Charlotte Elisabeth Fischer, Programme Manager at KU One Planet; Marie Smedegaard Andersen, Denmark’s Youth Delegate to the UN for climate and environment; and Nicole Marie Pemberton, climate activist and member of Den Grønne Ungdomsbevægelse. 🤝🌍

𝟯𝟬 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿: 𝗨𝗡 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁
The journey continues at UN City in Copenhagen, where participants will get a closer look at how international cooperation works in practice. The visit will introduce the work of the United Nations, how global priorities are discussed across borders, and the institutions and processes behind international decision-making. 🏛️🌐

It’s a chance to move from simulation to a real international setting and see how global cooperation takes shape beyond the negotiating table.

Join us on this climate journey. 🙌

On 29 October, From Local to Global starts with a Conference of Parties (COP) simulation, and we’re excited to welcome Elisabeth Fischer as one of the guest speakers for the day. 🌍

Charlotte is Programme Manager at KU One Planet, the University of Copenhagen’s sustainability platform, where she works to connect research with policy and the green transition. She also brings extensive political and sustainability experience as a former Member of the Danish Parliament, former member of the Capital Region’s regional council, former lead of the sustainable business programme at CONCITO, and former director of Circular Denmark, previously known as Dansk Affaldsforening.
Her perspective will be part of the day where participants move directly into the questions behind climate policy and decision-making.

During the simulation, you’ll work across many themes such as agriculture & food, mobility, digital inclusion, green jobs, and adaptation & resilience. In groups, you’ll discuss key challenges and develop 2–3 concrete policy recommendations per theme, which will feed into a Rural Youth Policy Manifesto. 🗣️🤝
Along the way, you’ll also explore and hear more about:
🌍 the geopolitics of climate change
🗳️ climate democracy
🤝 international cooperation
📚 COP history

Be part of the journey and take your seat at the table.

We were in Ebeltoft last week to implement trainings for the Green Horizons project with our partner Danish Youth Team.

Participants came together to explore sustainability from different angles through hands-on workshops and discussions. Together, we worked with:
♻️ Upcycling and giving materials a second life
🔍 Greenwashing and how to recognise misleading sustainability claims
🌍 The geopolitics of climate change and how climate issues are connected to power, responsibility and global inequalities

The workshops gave participants space to question, discuss and share their own perspectives, while connecting these topics to their everyday lives and communities. 💬🌱

A big thank you to everyone who took part and brought their curiosity, ideas and energy into the room. 🙌

What does it actually feel like to negotiate climate policy? 🌍

On 29 October, From Local to Global kicks off with a COP simulation in Frederiksberg.

You’ll step into different positions, negotiate climate priorities, and work towards a shared agreement around the table. A hands-on way to experience some of the questions, tensions and compromises behind international climate negotiations. 🌐💬

We’ll also be joined by Nicole, a climate activist from Copenhagen, an active member of Den Grønne Ungdomsbevægelse, and an MSc student in Climate Change. 🌱
Nicole is especially interested in questions of justice: who gets heard, who doesn’t, and who carries the consequences of decisions they had no part in making.
Through her activism, she has engaged with international climate policy, the polluter pays principle and degrowth economics, turning concern about the climate and biodiversity crisis into action

Social media is much more than entertainment. It can become one of the most powerful tools for creating positive social change.

In Module 10 of the RURAL 2.0 – Expanding Youth Engagement in Rural Communities project, we explore how young people can use digital platforms strategically to raise awareness, engage communities and promote meaningful action. In this module, prepared by Sporos Regeneration Institute, you will learn:
🔹 what digital advocacy really means;
🔹how to communicate with purpose;
🔹how to identify your target audience;
🔹how to choose the right platform for your message;
🔹how to create engaging content that motivates people to take action.

Digital advocacy is not measured by the number of likes; it is measured by the positive impact it creates in real life.
Every campaign starts with one message, but real change happens when people move from the screen into their communities.

We are proud to be part of this project alongside with CrowdAid, ECOS - Cooperativa de Educação, Cooperação e Desenvolvimento, CRL, ASEID, Scout Society, Sporos Regeneration Institute

🎥 More videos are on the way as we complete the full 12-video training series.

As part of RURAL 2.0, we are creating 12 short training videos to provide young people in rural areas with practical tools for participation, active citizenship, and community transformation.

🎥 Module 5 is dedicated to understanding how the European Union works. Many young people perceive the EU as something distant or difficult to understand, yet its decisions have a direct impact on everyday life in rural communities.
From education and youth employment to agriculture, digitalisation, and regional development, European policies influence many of the opportunities available in rural areas. 🌾💼💻

This video helps demystify European institutions, explain how decisions are made, and show that rural youth can also play an active role in shaping Europe’s future. 📈✨
Europe is not built only in Brussels. It is also built in our villages and rural communities! 🌿🌍🧑‍🤝‍🧑
