Future Female Sounds is a non-profit organisation and a global community of over 8.000 female and gender expansive DJs, founded in 2017 with the mission of making DJ culture accessible to women and gender minorities globally. FFS provide emerging and established DJs with education, visibility, and access to music industry opportunities. Future Female Sounds have trained over 1.000 new DJs across
their programmes and workshops in Copenhagen, Paris, Berlin, Cairo, Beijing, Tunis and Palestine, and run an online DJ Academy in partnership with Beatport
As community facilitators, we work to provide more opportunities for both emerging and established female talent in the electronic music scene. We grow the reach of local communities by partnering and collaborating with brands and organizations who share our values and vision. We also act as a network, produce events, host seminars, incubate emerging DJs, and book and promote female and gender minority talent. To support these in-person activities, we facilitate a digital platform highlighting DJ culture for women and gender minorities around the world. Our mission is to inspire more women and gender minorities to DJ. We empower DJs by providing professionalization and support. By changing the narrative of the DJ, we push for gender balance in the music industry.
