Last night’s PCOFMA men’s group was another powerful evening with 8 men showing up, speaking honestly, and supporting one another through real-life challenges and change.

The main focus of the discussion centered around turning points those moments in life where individuals recognize the need for change, growth, and a different path forward. The conversations highlighted the importance of optimism, accountability, and self-determination, even during difficult circumstances.

Each man brought something valuable to the table. Whether it was sharing progress, opening up about setbacks, or encouraging another participant, the room reflected resilience and the understanding that positive change is possible when you commit to moving forward.

Growth does not happen overnight, but every step matters. Last night was a reminder that healing, personal development, and healthier choices begin with the decision to keep going.

PCOFMA is proud to announce that we were successful in our funding application through the United Way of Pictou County.

This support represents an important step forward in expanding the services we can provide to individuals and families in our communities. Through this grant, PCOFMA will soon be able to offer Tier 3 clinical interventions on a 1:1 basis for clients requiring more intensive support and therapeutic intervention.

These services will become available once Andrea completes her Registered Counselling Therapist supervision process, further strengthening the level of care and professional support available through our organization.

This investment allows us to continue building meaningful pathways toward accountability, healing, emotional growth, and healthier relationships for the individuals we support every day.

We would like to sincerely thank the United Way of Pictou County for believing in the importance of this work and for supporting the continued growth of community-based intervention and counselling services.

The work continues and so does the commitment to creating safer, healthier communities.

Men’s mental health is important all year round, not just during one commemorative week. PCOFMA continues to champion the cause that men need safe community spaces to talk, to listen, to relate, and to heal. You are not ever alone, you’re human, you feel, and sometimes, you hurt. Please reach out to any support systems you have when needed. You matter, and you’re worth it. 💚

*Disclaimer: I don’t know Corey Morris personally, but his post has been shared by many on my own feeds. I hope he is ok with me sharing here, as I think it’s exactly the right place for his message to land. ❤️❤️❤️
