🎬🏆 THE PLAID MARQUEE PRESENTS: FJORD – 2026 PALME D’OR WINNER!🏆🎬

The Plaid Marquee Film Society is excited to bring the 2026 Palme d’Or winner, Fjord, to the big screen at Cineplex Cinemas New Glasgow! 🍿

Directed by Cristian Mungiu, Fjord is a gripping family drama and courtroom thriller that explores family, cultural differences, and the challenges of fitting into a new community.

🎞️About the Film:
Written, directed, and co-produced by Cristian Mungiu, Fjord stars Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve as a conservative Romanian-Norwegian couple who move to the wife's progressive, remote Norwegian hometown, where their family soon finds itself under intense scrutiny.

Loosely inspired by the real-life Bodnariu family case in Norway, this thought-provoking film explores questions of family, parenting, and the boundaries between personal beliefs and public scrutiny.

🌍 A six-country co-production between Romania, France, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, Fjord brings an internationally acclaimed story to our local screen.
