As needs and interests change clients may be involved in any of our programs including: vocational, life enhancement, well

ness, literacy, and employment. In-house social enterprises include catering and events, trophies, and mail services.

🎣 What a great day at the Trenton Park Fishing Derby!

Yesterday, participants enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on the water, casting lines, listening to music, and making memories with friends. Most importantly, everyone had a blast!

A sincere thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible:

• Trenton Parks & Recreation for their support and assistance with planning the event
• The Department of Fisheries for helping organize and secure fishing licences for participants
• RBC volunteers for lending a hand with casting lines, baiting hooks, and supporting participants throughout the day
• Janae and Nathan for providing the soundtrack

We are grateful for community partners and volunteers who help create meaningful experiences and welcoming spaces where everyone can participate, connect, and belong.

As we celebrate Access Awareness Week, days like this remind us that inclusion happens when communities work together to remove barriers and create opportunities for everyone to be involved. 💙

We’re happy to share that our very own Cathy Munro will be speaking about Summer Street Farm at the Pictou County Climate Summit taking place May 29-30 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre!

Cathy will explore how small-scale local food systems can reduce environmental impact, strengthen communities, improve access to fresh food, and create meaningful employment opportunities.

What began as an idea from our participants seven years ago with three goals:
- to grow food they could eat
- to grow food they could sell, creating employment opportunities
- to grow food to give to “hungry people out there”

— has grown into real impact.

Since opening, the farm has:
- Produced 64.43 MWh of solar energy
- Reduced CO₂ emissions by 64.24 tons
- Grown 1,862 lbs of greens
- Donated 912 lbs of fresh produce to the community
