It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Blair, a longtime and treasured member of the PCL community.

Blair was part of PCL from our early years and joined our Blueridge home just 7 years after it opened. Blairs parents, Paul and Joye Krauel, were founding family members of PCL and played a pivotal role in the development of the organization. Over the decades, Blair became an important part of our story, touching many lives and building meaningful relationships with people throughout PCL and the wider community.

Blair passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his family and comforted by some of the music he loved, including The Beach Boys and Simon & Garfunkel.

We are especially grateful to the employees at Monarch who supported Blair over the past several years and remained by his side during the final chapter of his life. Their compassion, commitment and the relationships they built with Blair helped ensure he was surrounded by care, dignity and familiarity.

As we remember Blair, we celebrate a life filled with connection, community and belonging. His presence and personality will be deeply missed, and he will always hold a special place in PCL’s history and in the hearts of those who knew him.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Blair’s family, friends and everyone who knew and cared for him. We are grateful to have shared in his life and to have been part of his story.

PCL got into the Oktoberfest spirit! We had a great time taking part in some of the fun activities happening around Kitchener-Waterloo and enjoying this special local tradition. Lots of smiles, laughter and Oktoberfest fun along the way. Prost!

Some of our PCL community members enjoyed a trip to the Stratford Fall Festival, taking in the sights, enjoying the waterfront and making the most of the beautiful fall weather. 🍁💛

At PCL, we are grateful to have so many employees who step up, lend a hand and give that little bit extra (including wellness ambassadors, program mentors, Health and Safety and DEI committee members and program supervisors). Our Pizza Appreciation Party was a chance to pause, celebrate and say a heartfelt thank you for all that they do.

And thanks to an incredibly generous community partner City Pizza, there was plenty of pizza to enjoy!

The new owners of City Pizza at 628 King Street N in Waterloo recently reached out to introduce themselves to the community and generously offered to provide our order at no cost. We were thrilled to take them up on the offer, and the pizza was a big hit!

As they begin their new chapter in Waterloo, we want to give City Pizza a huge PCL thank you for helping us recognize some very deserving employees and for showing such wonderful community spirit.

Thank you to all our employees who continue to go above and beyond, and thank you, City Pizza, for helping us celebrate them!

As we head into Thanksgiving weekend, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the things we’re grateful for❤️

During Happiness at Work Week, PCL employees shared "gratitude hearts" to highlight the people, moments and things that bring them happiness at work.

We think it’s always worth taking a moment to recognize what we’re thankful for, and this Thanksgiving, we’re especially thankful for our PCL community. Thank you for making PCL a place filled with connection, kindness and so many reasons to smile!
