Did you see Wednesday night’s banner drop? Ravi Parmar, the Minister of Forests, has been backtracking on old-growth protection but we know people care.

Lots of cars were headed out to Langford, Parmar’s riding, and lots of cars were giving us honks and thumbs up.

It's nice to know that the people care about old-growth, even if Parmar does the opposite of what people want. We will persist.

NEW REPORT: Our new report, Growing Nopiming Park After the Fire, examines the forests, wildlife and nature experiences lost to fire in Nopiming Provincial Park and provides recommendations to care for this special park in the future.

“Nopiming Park has provided us with a cherished nature destination for 50 years, giving us access to wilderness,” said Wilderness and Water Campaigner Eric Reder.

“While much of the forest is gone now, Nopiming is again offering us entrance, this time to an understanding of proper ecological care for parks and wilderness.”

Read the report Overview In 2025, unprecedented early May wildfires demonstrated that Manitoba is not prepared for the fire threat that is brought on by climate change. Nopiming Provincial Park suffered extensive damage, but the need to recover nature — which parks are designated to protect — ha...

The BC NDP government has approved mining exploration permits in Clayoquot Sound, against the wishes of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation.

Write to the province and call on them to listen to First Nations, not mining CEOs, and cancel these permits:

Happy biodiversity day 🐦🌲🐝

From the smallest leaf to the largest killer whale, the fibres that hold our ecosystems together are under attack. Canada promised to protect 30 per cent of lands and waters by 2030, but progress on this goal has been dangerously slow.

We've done a deep dive into exactly this topic. If you want to learn more about biodiversity, check out our report - www.wildernesscommittee.org/Protect30x30CanadaReport
