BCSS Youth aims to provide education, support, and resources for youth who have a family member with mental illness. We’ll share information about our youth programming, mental illness, how to take care of your own mental health, and where to find help or support across BC.

Last Friday, October 2, BCSS Youth participated in the inaugural Victoria Youth Service Providers' Network Youth Resource Hub at the Oaklands Community Centre.

It was a great opportunity to connect with parents and youth eager to explore local programming, discover mental health resources, and apply for community programs.

BCSS Youth is running Kids in Control in Mission. This free, 8-week program is for children ages 8–12 who are impacted by mental illness in the family.

🗓️ Wednesdays from October 7 - December 2, 2026
⏰ 4:00 - 5:30 PM
📍 7364 Horne St., Mission, BC

Through games, crafts, and stigma-free conversations about mental health, kids will learn coping strategies they can use for life 🧠💜

Does mental illness affect someone in your family? 🧠💜 Kids feel the impact too, but they don't have to navigate it alone.

Kids in Control in Maple Ridge starts next week. This free, 8-week program is for children ages 8–12 who are impacted by mental illness in their family. Through games, crafts, and stigma-free conversations about mental health, kids will learn coping strategies they can use for life.

This free, 8-week program is for youth, ages 13 – 18 years old, who have a family member or friend with a mental illness or substance use issue 🧠💜

Last Saturday, the BC Schizophrenia Society joined the celebration at 's 75th Anniversary! Katie (Vancouver Island Regional Manager) and Mary Beth (BCSS Youth Program Manager) were there connecting with the community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to learn more about BCSS and BCSS Youth programs, support resources, and how to help reduce mental illness stigma in the community.
