Precious Minds Support Services

The Greater Toronto Area is one of North America's fastest-growing areas and Durham Region is no exception.

Precious Minds was established as a charitable organization with Revenue Canada in June 1999, was incorporated in November 2001, and is governed by a Board of Directors that is made up of dedicated volunteers and professionals in the community. There are an estimated 2000 children with barriers to learning within North Durham, which is comprised of Scugog, Uxbridge and Brock Townships. Precious Mi

nds was established for the following purposes:
- To collect and provide information and resources relevant to families with children who have barriers to learning.
- To provide a safe and accessible place for families to gain support.
- To apply for appropriate funding and manage donations to the charity.
- To provide financial assistance to help with the cost of therapy/assistive devices to enhance the development and learning of children with special needs.

The Hygge Adventure group is a community-based program designed for our teen and adult participants, offering a welcoming and inclusive space to build friendships and connect with others.

We are so grateful for the wonderful partnership with Carrie-Lyn Dufton for our winter session of Fitness Club. Thank you for opening your doors after hours and your hearts to us. Your support means so much to our community, and we felt it in every moment. Thank you to our fantastic volunteers that made each week enjoyable for our participants! Finally, a big shout out to Carrie-Lyn for running a fun and challenging program for our group.
