Take a look at the Youth Forum that our Youth Council hosted about the upcoming municipal election on October 26th. Youth got together to break down the voting process, dig into candidate platforms, and talk about what actually matters to them heading into election day. 📸🗳️

Thank you to Toronto Metropolitan University for funding this forum through the Voice the Vote Community Micro-grant.

If you’re 18 or older and live in Ward 20 Scarborough Southwest, Election Day is October 26th from 10AM to 8PM. Visit myvote.toronto.ca to find your polling location and make sure you’re on the voters list. Get out and vote! 📣

Our kids are out here making music! 🎹💚

Harmony for All is a free, youth-led beginner piano program running as part of our After School programming at BGC West Scarborough. Children in the program learn keyboard basics, how to read music, and get to express themselves through some really fun and creative activities.

So happy to be able to offer something like this for our community. 🎶

Last week’s Back to School backpack giveaway was made possible by some truly generous partners. 🎒💚

Thank you to Penny Appeal Canada - Charity for donating the backpacks, care kits, and volunteer power, Wicked Carib (R) - CARIBBEAN FOOD CULTURE (R) for serving up some incredible food, and Kits for a Cause and Sunbelt Rentals for coming through with additional backpacks and supplies for our community.

Over 300 families walked away ready for Back to School thanks to your support! 🙏

A huge thank you to Kits for a Cause for donating hundreds of additional backpacks for our families as part of last week’s Back to School backpack giveaway! 🎒❤️

Kits for a Cause connects corporate volunteers with community organizations like ours, bringing teams together to assemble care kits that go directly to people who need them. It’s an incredibly impactful way for organizations to give back and we’re so grateful they thought of West Scarborough.

Thank you for showing up for our community. 🙏
