Uxbridge Chamber Choir

Uxbridge Chamber Choir Uxbridge Chamber Choir The 2008-09 season marked the Uxbridge Chamber Choir’s 25th anniversary. Murray Schafer. at St. New members are always welcome.

Founded by Thomas (Tom) Baker and Anne Mizen-Baker with support from the Ontario Arts Council and (later) Trillium Foundation, UCC has brought a special quality of choral music to the local community since its debut concert on January 28, 1984. The Uxbridge Chamber Choir was formed to bring quality performances of sacred and secular music to Uxbridge and to give accomplished singers a venue to dev

elop and express their musical talents. Over the years the choir has performed such works as the Requiems of Mozart, Faure & Durufle, the Bach b-minor Mass, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Handel's Creation and Orff’s Carmina Burana as well as a commissioned work by Canadian composer R. The 25th anniversary continued this tradition with major works by John Rutter, Poulenc, Byrd and Handel. Choir rehearsals are held on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. Paul's Anglican Church, Toronto Street, Uxbridge. No individual auditions are held, but performance standards are maintained by a non-threatening screening process during early rehearsals. If you are looking for a challenging repertoire and good choral atmosphere with professional accompaniment all under the inspired direction of our founder Tom Baker then come join the UCC. Membership fee for a full season is $150. UCC is a registered, non-profit charitable organization. All donations are welcomed (tax receipts issued) and recognized in our concert programs as well as here on our web-site for the duration of the season.
