Harmony Movement

Harmony Movement “The Harmony Movement program is dynamic, very interactive and very effective.

The impact of Harmony Movement on our school learning environment and community has been an exceptionally positive one!” Harmony Movement provides interactive diversity and equity education programs that empower and inspire youth, educators and those in the social service sector to develop an equity lens, empathy, respect, and leadership skills as leaders for social change. We encourage critical t

hinking, courageous conversations and strategy building to address and take action against stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, racism and other forms of oppression. Mission
Harmony Movement was founded in 1994 as a not-for-profit charitable organization to combat inter-racial intolerance and to confront the “us versus them” attitude which was prevalent in Canadian society at the time. Our mandate is to promote diversity, bring awareness to and challenge all forms of discrimination that act as social and cultural barriers to individuals’ full participation in Canadian society. We work in schools and with social service organizations across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Southern Ontario. Harmony Movement is committed to:

Passion
Communication
Flexibility
Professionalism

Join us online on June 1st at 7pm to learn how restorative justice builds safe, supportive school communities and stops harm. Link in bio to register.

Schools across Canada are facing increasing concerns around violence, discipline, and safety.

Educators are being asked difficult questions every day:

How do we respond to harm in ways that protect safety, while also building accountability, trust, and belonging?

Restorative justice is often presented as an alternative to punitive discipline. But in practice, many educators and families are still asking:

What does restorative justice actually look like in schools?

When does it work — and when does it fall short?

Who is being included in these processes… and who is not?

This 90-minute virtual roundtable brings together educators, students, caregivers, and community partners to have an honest, grounded conversation about what’s happening in schools right now — and where we go from here.

Thank you to our partners:
