Business for the Arts™ aims to strengthen arts and culture in Canada by connecting arts organizations to business patrons and volunteers through our artsScene™ and boardLink™ programs; by stimulating investment in the arts through matching incentives and sponsorship training for arts organizations through artsVest™; by communicating the value of investing in the arts through advocacy and research

via our Roundtables and the Canadian Arts Summit; and by providing a platform for arts organizations to celebrate their outstanding business partners in the arts through our Canadian Arts and Business Awards and media partnerships.

Our President and CEO Aubrey Reeves had the pleasure of attending the 2026 Burgundy Forum in !

This year’s theme, “Quality Matters”, highlighted Burgundy Asset Management's philosophy for navigating an increasingly uncertain world. As themes of resilience and long-term thinking continue to resonate across sectors, conversations felt especially relevant.

Ahead of the 2026 Federal Budget, Business / Arts has submitted two key recommendations to strengthen the cultural sector:

👉 Recognize that culture is a critical national resource, and invest strategically to catalyze Canada’s global influence, domestic resilience, and cross-sector collaboration.

👉 Invest in a robust HR strategy for the cultural sector to address critical labour shortages and stimulate generational renewal.

These measures directly align with the government’s stated goal to grow our economy and protect our sovereignty, and the sector is well-positioned to deliver. The time to invest in Canadian arts and culture is now.

Canada is having a moment in Cannes! 🎬

City of Toronto has just been named “City of Film” and “Film Commission of the Year” at the Global Film Production Awards, while Vancouver Film Studios took home “Studio of the Year”.

These honours, presented by Screen International, spotlight world-class filming work, locations and infrastructure. Judges notably called Toronto a “gold standard” for how the city and the sector have grown together, citing its deep talent pool, industry-leading incentives, and economic impact.

With this recognition, Canada cements its standing as one of the most sought-after destinations for competitive screen production.

Le Canada brille à Cannes! 🎬

Toronto vient d’être nommée « Ville du cinéma » et « Bureau du cinéma de l’année » au Global Film Production Awards, tandis que Vancouver Film Studios a remporté « Studio de l’année ».

Ces prix, remis par Screen International, reconnaissent les pôles et les infrastructures cinématographiques de classe mondiale. Le jury a notamment qualifié Toronto de « référence absolue » pour la façon dont la ville a évolué avec le secteur, soulignant son vaste bassin de talents, ses incitatifs de premier plan et son impact économique.

Nous étions ravis de soutenir la toute première Foire Parallele à Montréal! 🎨

Amélie Binnie et Brielle Daoust ont représenté notre équipe lors de cette exposition réunissant plus de 200 œuvres d'artistes émergents, la plus grande de son genre au centre-ville.

Ce fut un beau lancement pour une plateforme qui met en vitrine la relève artistique, et nous avons hâte de la voir grandir! 👏

Our team members Amélie Binnie and Brielle Daoust attended this vibrant showcase of over 200 works by emerging artists, the largest of its kind in downtown Montreal.

Happy ! 🏛️

Our museums, galleries, libraries and archives are vital stewards of Canada’s arts, culture and stories. This year’s theme, “Museums Uniting a Divided World”, highlights their role in building trust, fostering belonging, and helping us engage thoughtfully with the challenges of our time.

It stands to reason that nearly four in five Canadian culture-goers want these institutions to be more accessible, citing free admission to our national museums in our September 2025 Arts Response Tracking Survey.

Business / Arts is committed to championing sustained investment in these essential spaces in order to keep them open, alive, and thriving.

Nos musées, galeries, bibliothèques et archives sont des gardiens essentiels des arts, de la culture et des récits canadiens. Le thème de cette année, « Les musées unissent un monde divisé », souligne leur capacité à renforcer la confiance et le sentiment d’appartenance du public, tout en l’aidant à aborder les enjeux d'aujourd'hui avec discernement.

Il va de soi que près de quatre sur cinq amatrices et amateurs de culture au Canada souhaitent que ces institutions soient plus accessibles, évoquant notamment l’entrée gratuite à nos musées nationaux dans notre Arts Response Tracking Study de septembre 2025.

Affaires / Arts s’engage à soutenir durablement ces espaces afin qu’ils continuent de s’épanouir et de nous rassembler.
