1 in 5 Veterans and 1 in 4 military families experience challenges with mental health. These numbers demand our attention, and more importantly, our action.

True Patriot Love is proud to answer the call for stronger, more accessible mental health support. To date, we’ve helped to fund 182 mental health programs for military families across Canada, creating more opportunities for those who serve and their families to access the support they need.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we raise awareness of these needs. Every day, we work to strengthen the support available to Canada’s military and Veteran community.

On Tuesday evening, True Patriot Love Foundation was proud to sponsor the annual Celebration of Service on the Hill, bringing together employers, Veterans, parliamentarians, and Canadian Armed Forces leadership to recognize organizations leading the way in Veteran hiring.

Congratulations to this year's Veteran Employment Champion Award recipients, CAE and Scotiabank. Through their recruitment efforts, employee development programs, and leadership at every level of their organizations, both recipients are helping more Veterans build meaningful careers after military service.

By working across sectors, we are helping employers better understand the experience, skills, and leadership that Veterans, Reservists, and military family members bring to Canada's workforce.

Thank you to our hosts, Alex Ruff, MP and Sherry Romanado, for championing this event and bringing together leaders committed to strengthening employment opportunities for Canada's military and Veteran community.

As the founder of Can Praxis, Steve Critchley has seen how equine-assisted therapy can give Veterans and their families a supportive space to work through the impacts of service. For some, those impacts can have lasting effects on mental health and well-being.

One week ago, Vivek Khindria set out on a week-long cycling journey to honour Canada's Veterans.

Volunteerism can be a continuation of service, or a pathway to what comes next.

As Maj Peter Little explains, it can be as simple as supporting your children’s school, coaching a sports team, or mentoring others in your community. These everyday contributions build transferable skills and can open doors to other employment opportunities after military service ends.

As we recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation today, we gratefully acknowledge the Indigenous Veterans who have made significant contributions to Canada’s military community across generations. Their service, leadership, and sacrifice are an important part of our shared history.

The Vancouver Whistler Invictus Games in 2025 served as a powerful platform for reconciliation and recognition. As we continue to honour the legacy of the Games, we are proud to reinforce a global commitment to inclusion, respect and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.

At True Patriot Love, we continue this legacy by listening to Indigenous voices, recognizing the experiences and contributions of Indigenous Veterans, and building stronger relationships with Indigenous communities to help turn gratitude into meaningful action.
