It’s long overdue, but I finally want to express my gratitude to all the sisters who helped make our SIS Choruibhati happen. I wanted to record a video message instead of writing such a long post, but sometimes I feel I can put my heart into words better when I write. So, this message comes straight from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
First of all, my sincere apology to Ayesha for keeping her busy in the basement kitchen cooking the rice. Any SIS event is meant for all our sisters to enjoy. If even one sister is deprived of enjoying the event because she is busy working, I feel something is missing. Otherwise, I could have called this event completely successful.
Having perfectly cooked rice was very important, and Ayesha did not leave the kitchen until all the rice was fully done. After that, she had to rush to work. That is the kind of dedicated sister we have in SIS. ❤️
For our next event, we will have two large rice cookers, and both will be placed outside so it will be easier to check and manage the rice.
Other than that, Choruibhati was a wonderful event this time without any major issues. I am personally very happy with the arrangements and how everything came together. If you have a different opinion or any positive feedback, please feel free to comment under this post or email us at [email protected].
Now, I want to recognize some of the amazing sisters who worked behind the scenes:
❤️ Leeza and Leema: They picked up the matir chula, cleaned and prepared the chicken, and were also in charge of the lace fita and helping other sisters with grooming. They also helped Sohely finish the thelagari.
❤️ Lucky: Went shopping for breakfast items before the event.
❤️ Sharmin Shirin: Went to McNicoll and Finch to pick up the roshogolla.
❤️ Nilufa: Helped Sohely build the thelagari the night before and was also one of our line cooks.
❤️ Umme: One of our dedicated line cooks.
❤️ Sohely: Made the dakbaksho and worked on the thelagari. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
❤️ Maria: Helped with the game segment.
❤️ Jasmine: My friend, but she is always involved in SIS chores, whether she is attending the event or not. She is always there when help is needed. ❤️
❤️ Zaheda: Our photographer! She hardly took a break except for lunch and prayers. She captured everything she possibly could, and I am forever grateful to her, as always, for preserving these beautiful memories. 📸❤️
❤️ Rubina Apa: She sponsored $100 for the matir chula and, once again, opened her home to us for our Choruibhati. This was the fifth time we held our Choruibhati at her place. We are truly lucky and grateful to have an Apa like her in our group. She also helped wash the big pans and pots at the end! ❤️
❤️ Arnika: Took charge of selling our auction items.
❤️ Babita: Our main chef! There is absolutely no doubt about her dedication to cooking. But after doing so much cooking, she still helped with the cleanup and even wanted to wash the dishes. She is the best, not only as my friend but as a human being. ❤️
We also had an amazing event team, including Maria, Shakila, Sohely, and Leeza. They worked behind the scenes before the event and on the day of the event, taking responsibility for so many things to make sure everything ran smoothly.
And last but definitely not least, the most important job at the end of any event: cleaning up and washing those huge pots! 😅
Shikha came just to say hello to us, but she immediately jumped in to help wash the pots. Jasmine was next to join, followed by Lucky, Naz, and Rubina Apa.
Honestly, these sisters were the real heroes of the event! 🦸♀️❤️
I hope I have not forgotten to thank anyone who helped directly with a specific task. We also had a big group of sisters cutting onions and vegetables and running around to do many other chores. Please keep in mind that nothing went unnoticed. Every little help mattered, and I am grateful for all of you. ❤️
And what happened to those who did not do any chores? Well, they posed for photos, participated in the games, laughed, talked, and brought their cheerful energy to the event! 😄❤️
Just imagine, 40 sisters in one backyard, and the event went so smoothly because everyone participated in their own way and brought such a lively vibe. An event is not just about cooking and cleaning. The people, laughter, conversations, games, and memories are what make it special.
There were also some truly special moments.
The dakbaksho was a brilliant idea from Sohely! ❤️
Writing a letter to another sister and reading it at the end was another beautiful and creative idea. It reminded me that SIS is not only about ha ha, hi hi and taking photos. We also talk heart to heart. We build connections and create meaningful relationships.
My personal favourite part was when we all sat together on the rugs, relaxed, and simply talked. ❤️ I would love to continue this tradition every year.
What was your favourite part of the event?
I want all 40 attendees to comment below and tell us what they enjoyed the most. And now I am curious to see… who will be the first person to comment? 😄👇
Thank you to every sister who cooked, carried things, shopped, cleaned, organized, helped behind the scenes, joined the games, took photos, laughed, and brought positive energy to our Choruibhati.
SIS is not about one person. SIS becomes beautiful because of sisters like you who come together and support each other.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all. ❤️🙏
Please share this post and help spread the word about SIS and the good work we are doing for our community. ❤️
