In September, Toronto Community Benefits Network launched the kickoff for Ready to Build Green, a program supporting Black contractors to compete in Toronto’s low-carbon construction and retrofit market.

Delivered in partnership with the City of Toronto, the kickoff brought together contractors, coaches, and partners committed to expanding access to green building and retrofit work across Toronto.

The report provides important insights into the experiences and progress of women in the skilled trades and contributes to the ongoing conversation around creating more inclusive opportunities in the industry.

Build practical skills, grow your professional network, and explore career and business opportunities in the low-carbon economy.

Training areas include clean technology, renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability, building retrofits, electrification, and green building.

Participants will also benefit from mentorship, Solution Team projects, industry exposure, networking, and professional skills development.

The program is delivered by the Toronto Community Benefits Network in partnership with Thinkwell Shift.
