As the Canadian Kurdish Community Centre, we were delighted to welcome Member of Parliament Ya’ara Saks to our centre.

During our productive meeting, we held comprehensive discussions on access to mental health services for the Kurdish community, support programs for youth, challenges faced in immigration processes, employment and vocational training opportunities, and the needs of the Kurdish community in Canada.

In particular, we explored opportunities for collaboration in supporting youth mental health, overcoming language barriers, and strengthening community-based support networks. We also exchanged valuable perspectives on conveying the challenges faced by the Kurdish community to relevant federal institutions and contributing to solution-oriented processes.

We would like to thank Ms. Ya’ara Saks for her visit and constructive contributions, as she continues to be a voice for the Kurdish community by listening to and supporting the needs of our community.

Together, we will continue working toward a more inclusive, stronger, and more hopeful future.
