Still on a Pinoy Fiesta high!

And with that comes one of the most unforgettable highlights of the day—our Amateur Singing Contest: Teen Edition. What an incredible showcase of talent! Every contestant gave an amazing performance, making it a real challenge not only for our judges but even for the audience to pick their favorites.

After a very close competition, three outstanding performers emerged as our winners.

Congratulations once again to our winners! And to all of our contestants, thank you for sharing your talent, courage, and passion with us. Every one of you made this competition truly special, and you should all be proud of what you accomplished.

You didn't just compete—you entertained, inspired, and made Pinoy Fiesta 2026 a show to remember. Well done, everyone!

Last August 4, the Filipino Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (FILAN) proudly partnered with the offices of Honourable Minister Joanne Thompson and Honourable Minister Rechie Valdez for a Meet & Greet that brought together members of the Filipino community and our valued community partners.

Joining the gathering were representatives from various organizations, including MUNFILSA, JIL, Victory NL, and other community groups, making it an evening of meaningful conversations, new connections, and strengthened relationships.

FILAN extends its sincere gratitude to the offices of Minister Thompson and Minister Valdez for making this gathering possible, and to everyone who attended and helped make the evening a success.

Maraming salamat, and we look forward to more opportunities to work together for our growing Filipino community.

Nothing beats the nostalgic charm of jeepney and public bus route signs in the Philippines. Whether it's "Quiapo," "Cubao Ilalim," or "Monumento," those colorful hand-painted signs instantly tell you where you're headed—and they always bring a smile.

Congratulations to JoChef's Booth, the winner of our very first Best Booth Competition! Their clever jeepney-inspired route signs perfectly captured that nostalgic Filipino vibe. And yes, "Alipin ng Salapi" was definitely a crowd favorite—it gave many of us a good laugh!

Of course, this competition wouldn't have been as exciting without all of our vendors who embraced the challenge and went above and beyond in decorating their booths. Thank you for your creativity, effort, and enthusiasm. Every decorated booth added color, character, and a festive atmosphere that made Pinoy Fiesta 2026 even more memorable.

We're so proud to have introduced this competition for the first time, and after seeing all the amazing ideas, we can't wait to see what everyone comes up with next year. Congratulations once again to JoChef's Booth and to all of our wonderful vendors!

Our hearts are still smiling.

Yesterday wasn't just another event—it was a celebration of culture, community, friendship, laughter, music, and FOOD (lots and lots of food!).

To everyone who joined us at Pinoy Fiesta 2026... thank you. Whether you came to enjoy the performances, satisfy your Filipino food cravings, support our vendors, reconnect with friends, or experience Filipino culture for the very first time, you made this celebration truly special. Seeing our community come together reminded us why Pinoy Fiesta means so much.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible sponsors and supporters:

Steele Honda – Our Major Sponsor, for believing in our vision and supporting our growing Filipino community. A special shout-out to Aaron and Austin for your trust, encouragement, and unwavering support.

Tim Hortons – Our Official Food & Refreshment Sponsor, for keeping our volunteers energized and well taken care of throughout the weekend.

Memorial Cafe – Thank you for generously donating the prizes for our Amateur Singing Contest – Teen Edition and for helping us celebrate the incredible talents of our young performers.

A special thank you to Mayor Danny Breen for celebrating with us and for his continued support of our community. We are also grateful to John Reardon and Meghan Ory for joining us and making the day even more memorable.

To our volunteers—you are the true MVPs. You arrived early, carried tables and chairs, welcomed guests, solved problems, answered questions, cleaned up, and somehow still managed to smile. Your selfless spirit of bayanihan was on full display, and we simply couldn't have done it without you.

To our generous door prize donors—Gian's Kitchen, Sinaing, Maggie Suarez (Greatway), and Anne Burke (Sun Life)—thank you for your generosity and for making our celebration even more exciting for our lucky winners.

A very special thank you to Troy and the entire Tres Marias team for going above and beyond—not only for donating door prizes, but also for generously providing lunch for our volunteers and coordinators. Your kindness and support meant so much to our team. And yes... the menudo was a huge hit!

To our vendors, performers, contestants, judges, photographers, donors, and everyone who contributed behind the scenes—thank you for making this year's fiesta unforgettable.

And to the Pinoy Fiesta Organizing Team, thank you for months of planning, teamwork, and countless hours of hard work. Every meeting, message, and late night was worth it when we saw the joy on everyone's faces.

Most of all, thank you for proving once again that when Filipinos come together, amazing things happen.

As we pack away the decorations and catch up on some well-deserved sleep, we leave with grateful hearts and memories we'll cherish for years to come.

Maraming, maraming salamat!

Until the next FILAN event... ingat, God bless, and we'll see you again soon!
