A much-welcomed first step in the right direction!

As of January 2023, B.C. will decriminalize possession of drugs. Hopefully these changes will produce positive outcomes for people who carry and/or use substances and inform a federal decriminalization strategy.

What are your thoughts on this first step towards decriminalization in Canada and North America? Let us know in the comments.

The decriminalization of small amounts of illicit substances – such as illicit fentanyl, he**in, co***ne and methamphetamine – in B.C. is made possible by an exemption from federal drug law. It will take effect Jan. 31, 2023
