We are looking for an additional volunteer Dog Care Support Coordinator to join our team. We already have a two member Dog Care Support team, and we work hard to ensure that we can accommodate everyone’s busy schedules. Sometimes we have to respond quickly to emergent situations; the more people we have to call on, the easier it is all around! Along with the usual application process, ElderDog National provides orientation and training for this role. Responsibilities are:
- follows Dog Care Support Procedures and Guidelines as outlined by ElderDog National
- conducts initial visit with seniors to determine services available/required
- provides education and oversees volunteers
- coordinates support schedules
- mediates conflicts or issues
- participates in monthly teleconferences
- follows reporting requirements

**Foster Home found! Still accepting adoption applications**

🚨 Urgent foster or adoption needed for Dempsey 🚨

We are urgently looking for a foster home or potential adopter for Dempsey, a sweet 1-year-old Golden doodle.

Dempsey is currently in a trial adoption period, but unfortunately the family is experiencing allergic reactions and he now needs a safe, calm place to land as soon as possible. He is going through a stressful transition and would really benefit from a home where he can decompress and feel secure.

A little about Dempsey:
- 1-year-old Golden doodle, approximately 55 lbs
- Still has lots of fun puppy energy
- Loves playing in the backyard
- Loves being with people
- Knows a few commands, including sit, down, and paw

What Dempsey needs:
- A pet-free
- Someone comfortable handling a larger dog
- A home that can continue helping him learn leash manners, as he has not had proper walking training yet
- Ideally, a space with a large backyard where he can safely run and play

Dempsey is a loving boy who just needs the right environment and a patient person or family to help him settle. If you can foster, are interested in adopting, or know someone who may be a good fit, please reach out as soon as possible.

Congrats to the team at Corner Brook on the launch of their Pawd (local chapter)! A lot of work goes into launching a new ElderDog Canada Pawd, from general volunteer and leadership recruitment and training to promoting the organization and our services.

This launch marks ElderDog's 41st Pawd (and the second Pawd in Newfoundland and Labrador). Newfoundland now has more options for older adults who want to keep their dogs and need support to make it work.

💙🐾 Some dogs need a little extra love — especially in their golden years.

We’re honoured to highlight ElderDog Newfoundland as part of this year’s NL Pet Expo.

ElderDog supports senior dogs and the people who care for them, helping older pups stay safe, supported, and loved in their later years. And honestly… there’s something pretty special about a grey muzzle and a slow wag 🐶💙

They’ll be part of the NL Pet Expo happening May 30–31, 2026 at the Jack Byrne Arena, and we’re proud to shine a light on the important work they do in our province.
