💙🐾 SOME DOGS NEED A LITTLE EXTRA LOVE 🐾💙

💙🐾 Some dogs need a little extra love — especially in their golden years.

We’re honoured to highlight ElderDog Newfoundland as part of this year’s NL Pet Expo.

ElderDog supports senior dogs and the people who care for them, helping older pups stay safe, supported, and loved in their later years. And honestly… there’s something pretty special about a grey muzzle and a slow wag 🐶💙

They’ll be part of the NL Pet Expo happening May 30–31, 2026 at the Jack Byrne Arena, and we’re proud to shine a light on the important work they do in our province.

If you’ve ever loved a senior dog, drop a 💙 in the comments.

At ElderDog, our foster program serves a variety of purposes - none of which would be possible without our volunteers! Many cities are looking to add more Foster Volunteers to their Pawds.

We are currently looking for foster homes who can help with either temporary care or long term care of dogs while seniors face time commitments such as surgeries and when we are aiming to rehome animals who are awaiting adoption. While we currently do not have any dogs that need to be immediately fostered, that can change very quickly, therefore we are looking to have some pre approved foster homes available for when such emergencies happen.

Fostering is a rewarding experience that helps dogs in need by allowing them to live
in a home, with a family, while their caregiver is unavailable. Fostering is the
alternative to keeping dogs isolated and provides comfort for human and canine
companions.

Fostering requires a commitment of your time and resources. You must be certain
that your existing companion animals will accept the foster dog. Because older dogs
may have special age-related needs or have experienced recent disruption or
stress, we take extra care to find homes that best suit the needs and abilities of
both dog and human.

If this interests you or someone you know, please reach out to us or share this post for others to see.
