June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and to reflect on the history that shaped the rights and freedoms many enjoy today.

QueerSpace at the Association for New Canadians has put together a Pride Month Guide to share information about Pride, its history, and why it continues to matter. Understanding that history is an important part of being an active ally and helps us appreciate the challenges, achievements, and ongoing advocacy of 2SLGBTQIA+ people.

While Pride Month runs through June, St. John's Pride Festival traditionally takes place in July. Watch our page later this month for a Pride events calendar featuring celebrations happening throughout the community.

Wishing everyone a joyful, safe, and affirming Pride Month. Check out our Pride Month Guide below.
