We’re also thrilled to introduce our third special guest on tomorrow evening’s concert… Dave Penny and Daunt Lee!

Dave Penny has established himself as a Newfoundland and Labrador comic songwriter/storyteller, which over the past 25 years has brought him around the province as well as parts of Ontario, PEI and New England. He chronicles current events, or makes up stories loosely based on personal experiences or news article using his unique brand of clever satire.

Whether the issue is localized to Newfoundland and Labrador, such as a state of emergency following a record snowfall, or a more global issue such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Dave ties them with humourous narrative and catchy melodies. His 2017 release, All Turned Around, was nominated for a MusicNL and a Canadian Folk Music award for Traditional Artist of the Year. In October 2020, Dave released Chip Wagon Ahead, another album of original songs, which has been nominated for a MusicNL award for Celtic/Traditional Artist of the Year.

For the last three years he has teamed up with veteran multi-instrumentalist Daunt Lee, whose intricate guitar arrangements and mandolin accompaniment add to the uplifting spirit of Dave’s comical songs and driving accordion.

We are thrilled to have Ana & Eric joining us for our final concert of the season on May 25!

Ana & Eric are a Brazilian duo based in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, known for their unique blend of Brazilian bossa nova and North American indie-folk. The duo has performed in Brazil, Europe, and Canada, gaining international recognition. In 2020, they released two singles, “Hope” and “Lights My Way,” followed by their debut self-titled EP, which earned them a nomination for the 2021 ECMA Awards and three nominations at the 2021 MusicNL Awards.
Their debut album, Our House From Here (2023), along with the singles “I Can See Our House From Here” and “Manhã de Abril,” received acclaim in Brazil, Portugal, and Canada. The album was nominated for Global Recording of the Year at the 2024 ECMA and received three nominations at the 2023 MusicNL Awards.
Ana Luísa Ramos, the duo’s vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, also received individual recognition at the 2024 MusicNL Awards, winning in the categories of Jazz Artist of the Year and Global Artist of the Year. In 2025, Ana won the ECMA Global Release of the Year with her song “Clouds”
