Newfoundland & Labrador Rose of Tralee

Newfoundland & Labrador Rose of Tralee A Celebration of Irish Heritage The Rose of Tralee International Festival celebrated 50 years in 2009, and is one of Ireland's longest running festivals.

Annually located in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland, it is based around the selection of the Rose of Tralee, an international event that encompasses young women of Irish descent from Ireland and around the world, celebrating their current Nationalism through their volunteerism, their choice of career, and their extra-curricular life choices. A celebration of heritage! Every year more than 30 Interna

tional Roses travel to Tralee, including Newfoundland & Labrador in 2012, supported by friends and family. The Festival comprises Rose Selection during a live 2 night television RTE broadcast, family carnival, fashion show and live concerts, in addition to welcoming visitors and delegates from cities and regions worldwide represented by each Rose. Newfoundland & Labrador now has the opportunity to play a proud part in this celebration by sending a Rose to compete, representing the strong Irish heritage, talents and abilities that embodies a Newfoundlander!

We are so grateful to have Ever After Boutique as part of Kathleen Murphy's journey to Ireland as our 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Rose. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸŒΉ

This August, Kathleen will represent our province at the Rose of Tralee International Festival, and thanks to the incredible team at Ever After Boutique, she'll be taking the stage in a beautiful gown that will help her feel confident, elegant, and ready for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Supporting local businesses that support local women is something we truly value, and Ever After continues to go above and beyond for our Roses year after year.

Thank you for helping make this journey even more special. ❀️

Spent Saturday morning in my mother's hometown of Ferryland for a community cleanup! 🌿❀️

It was an absolutely beautiful morning spent giving back to a place that means so much to my family. Together, we collected a couple of bags of garbage, and I was especially proud to have my 91-year-old nan lending a hand too!

Small efforts can make a big difference when we all work together to care for our communities. Let's keep Ferryland clean, beautiful, and welcoming for everyone. πŸƒ

What an incredible weekend for our 2026 Newfoundland & Labrador Rose, Kathleen Murphy, as she joined the team at the Janeway Telethon as a host.

For generations, the Janeway Telethon has brought communities across Newfoundland & Labrador together to raise funds for life-saving equipment, programs, and care for children and families throughout our province. We are so proud to see Kathleen helping share the stories that inspire so many to give and supporting an event that means so much to families across our province.

Thank you to the NTV family for another wonderful weekend and for all the work that goes into making the Janeway Telethon such a success year after year.

Join us in congratulating Kathleen as she continues her journey toward the Rose of Tralee Festival in Ireland this August. πŸ’™πŸŒΉ

Some traditions hold a special place in your heart. πŸ’œ

This weekend, our 2026 Newfoundland & Labrador Rose, Kathleen, took part in the Cystic Fibrosis Walk, an event she has attended for more than two decades in support of her cousin Taylor, who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth.

For Kathleen and her family, this walk is about more than just fundraising. It's about community, hope, advocacy, and standing alongside those living with CF every day.

We're proud to see Kathleen using her voice and platform to support causes that are close to her heart. πŸ’œ

A special day in a very special place. πŸ’š

Our 2026 Newfoundland & Labrador Rose, Kathleen, spent the day in beautiful Cribbies, Tors Cove, capturing her official headshots as she prepares to represent our province at the Rose of Tralee Festival in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland this August.

A huge thank you to Matt Temple of Harbour Loft Media for bringing his talent and creativity to the shoot. Matt was one of our photography sponsors during this year's selection gala, and we are so grateful for his continued support of our Rose programme.

These photos will soon make their way across the Atlantic as part of Kathleen's journey to Ireland, and we cannot wait to see the final results. ✨

We also had the opportunity to capture some beautiful moments with Kathleen's mom, and we have to ask... don't you think they look alike? πŸ’•

Stay tuned for the finished images and more behind-the-scenes moments as we count down to the Rose of Tralee Festival!

The Janeway Telethon is one of Newfoundland and Labrador's most cherished traditions, bringing communities together to support children and families across our province. πŸ’›

Our 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Rose is honoured to be joining this year's telethon as a host and helping raise funds for life-saving equipment, programs, and care through the Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre.

We can't wait to be part of this incredible weekend of generosity, hope, and community spirit. Be sure to tune in, support if you're able, and help make a difference for children throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

See you at the telethon! ✨

Help if you can 🫢

Hey folks, we are looking for help from you lovely people again on some issues that our friends from need a hand with! ❀️

Some of our vulnerable community members need our help and so we've partnered with and for a personal hygiene donation drive for Thrive.

We're looking for body wash, shampoo, conditioner and/or deodorant to help stock Thrive's supply cupboard for folks this summer. If you're able, we'll be accepting donations throughout the month of June at the pub. Each donation will receive an entry to win a prize pack generously donated by our friends at Quidi Vidi, Collingwood's, and we're throwing in a gift card as well. πŸ‘

Its never been a problem getting some donations through our doors because you are all so good to us & the community, but a couple little prizes from the crews at QV & Collingwoods wouldn't be too shabby πŸ˜‰

We'll be accepting donations for the rest of the month. If you don't mind, give this post a share to help spread the word. Thank you very much. Cheers 🍻

From Kathleen:

"This past weekend was my first Miss Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Leadership Program as a member of the Board of Directors, and it meant more to me than I ever expected.

Seeing 43 bright, talented, and passionate young women put themselves out there was truly inspiring. For many of these girls, the journey to the program was not an easy one. The road to getting here was filled with challenges, but they persevered, stepped onto that stage, and shone. I could not be more impressed.

I am so proud of each and every one of these 43 girls. Over the course of the weekend, they came together, supported one another, and formed meaningful connections. To think they were strangers just a few days ago is mind-blowing.

At first, joining the Board of Directors felt daunting. There is so much hard work, planning, scheduling, and organization that goes into making this program a success. But now, after experiencing the Leadership Weekend from this angle, I understand exactly why the board puts in all that effort.

It’s because this program is making a difference.
It’s because this program is changing lives.
It’s because this work is incredibly rewarding, and together we are helping build the next generation of leaders.

After spending the weekend with these amazing young women, I have no worries about the future of our province. I look forward to watching them succeed, perhaps crossing paths with some of them throughout my career, and hopefully welcoming a few back next year.
Special congratulations to our new titleholder, Alpita Patro. You will do amazing things and we could not be happier for you. ❀️"
