IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTENT 📣
Effective October 9, 2025: OCTOBER Concert Series - Music In Motion - has been cancelled.
The ISO Team understands how vitally important our artistic contribution is to our twin communities and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this cancellation has caused. Looking forward to delivering great music to you once again and so we thank you for your continued patience and support. Please see previously submitted Patron Notification:
Dear ISO Patrons,
We are writing to share some difficult, yet important news about the International Symphony Orchestra. After much thought and discussion, the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2025–2026 concert season.
This decision was not made lightly. Despite the dedication of our musicians, volunteers, and supporters, the Symphony is facing serious financial and administrative challenges. Ticket sales have remained low, operating costs have increased, and our reserves have fallen below sustainable levels. Continuing with the current season would place the organization in a position from which it could not recover.
While this pause is painful, it is also necessary. It gives us the time we need to rebuild our financial foundation, strengthen our administrative operations, and plan for a future where the ISO can thrive for generations to come.
We know that many of you have already purchased tickets for upcoming concerts, and we sincerely apologize for the disruption this causes. If you have purchased tickets, you have two options:
Request a Full Refund – We are happy to issue a refund for the full value of your tickets.
Convert Your Tickets into a Donation – If you are able, we would be deeply grateful if you would consider donating the value of your tickets back to the Symphony. Your generosity will help the ISO recover, regroup, and return stronger than ever. Donations over $20 will receive a charitable tax receipt.
To request a refund or to donate your tickets for Sarnia productions, please contact the Imperial Theatre Box Office at 519-344-7469 or [email protected] by November 30, 2025.
To request a refund or to donate your tickets for St. Clair County productions, please contact ISO Management at [email protected] by November 30, 2025.
Although the season is on pause, the music will not stop forever. The ISO will be working closely with the Imperial Theatre to present special fundraising concerts and community performances over the coming months, as well as exploring ways to relaunch our El Sistema youth music program in Sarnia.
We want to thank you — our loyal patrons — for your years of support, encouragement, and belief in the power of music. The ISO has been a cultural bridge between Sarnia, Ontario, and Port Huron, Michigan for nearly 70 years, and with your help, it will continue to unite our communities through the joy of music for many more.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Board of Directors
