Many of them survived incredibly harsh lives on the streets. They were unwanted, abandoned, poisoned, injured, hit by cars, chased away, or simply ignored when they needed help the most.
And sometimes, when we first rescue them, they don’t know how to receive love. They are scared. They may run away, hide, bark, or defend themselves because survival is all they have ever known.
But dogs understand kindness.
Approach them with patience. Sit beside them. Feed them. Speak gently. Show them empathy without expecting anything in return. Slowly, the fear begins to disappear. They learn that a human hand can comfort instead of hurt. They begin to trust. And eventually, that frightened stray becomes someone’s best friend. ❤️
I have watched so many of our former street dogs travel overseas and become deeply loved members of families. Dogs that once slept beside garbage bins or wandered the streets looking for food are now sleeping safely in homes, going on walks, playing with children, and finally knowing what it means to belong.
If they can be given that chance overseas, we can give them that chance here in Kuwait too.
Please don’t overlook a dog because they are a stray or because they don’t have a breed. Sometimes the dogs who have experienced the least kindness become the ones who appreciate it the most.
It isn’t always easy. Trust can take time. Healing can take time. But every bit of patience, every act of kindness, and every effort you make will be worth it.
Every dog has a story. Give a stray the chance to change the ending. 🐾💚
