Kawartha Youth Orchestra

Kawartha Youth Orchestra KYO gives young musicians in the Kawartha Region an opportunity to learn & perform symphonic music Jeff Clements leads this ensemble Thursday evenings.

Founded in 2002, The Senior Kawartha Youth Orchestra (SKYO) give young musicians of the Kawartha Region ages 12- 28 the opportunity to learn symphonic music and perform in an orchestral ensemble under the artistic direction of Dr. Alexander (Al) Cannon. This is an auditioned orchestra rehearses Sunday afternoons and is for the experienced musician. The Intermediate Kawartha Youth Orchestra (IKYO),

is geared towards young musicians ages 8 and up. There are no auditions necessary but musicians must be able to read music and have some previous experience on their instrument. The Junior Kawartha Youth Orchestra (JKYO) is available to beginner musicians or youth with limited musical experience ages 8 -14. These small ensembles will give your child the basics of music and teach them how to play an instrument of their choice. Instrument loan is included in the registration fee. The JKYO meets on Tuesday evenings.
