We’re excited to share that PAMDA has been nominated for a Penticton Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award in the Not-for-Profit Excellence category! 🎉

It's quite humbling to be recognized alongside other organizations and businesses doing great work in our community.

For us, this nomination is really about the students. Every lesson, class, performance, bursary, and community program is made possible by the people who believe in giving students opportunities to learn, create, perform, and grow.

A special thank you to Omland Heal LLP, sponsor of the Not-for-Profit Excellence category, for supporting and recognizing the important work of local nonprofits.

In this free Intro to Composition series youth students learn foundational knowledge of woodwind, brass, string and percussion instruments. Led by Composer Rodney Sharman, the five Intro to Composition sessions bring in various guest musicians who specialize in their instruments.

The first session is offered twice and takes place in person at the Kelowna Community Music School and the Penticton Academy for Music and Dramatic Arts. Sessions 2-5 are online. Pick and choose the ones that interest you most or attend all five!

Well done! This was our 5th Summer Strings Adult Camp and the participants played absolutely beautifully. Such a diverse and challenging program that John Suderman, Sandra Wilmot, and Olivia Walsh put together, too. Thanks so much Concorde Retirement Residence for hosting us.

We hope everyone in our community is safe. As many of you know, the comfort centre at Princess Margaret Secondary School is a hangout spot for those evacuated from their homes. There's food, supplies, showers, charging stations, a gym, and arts & crafts. It's a pet-friendly/family-friendly spot. Today, one of our instructors, Kirby Barber, will be leading a singalong for the little ones in the gym. We'll be there around 2pm. And if we can help in any way, please reach out. So many of our PAMDA family have been affected by the wildfires. Please know we're thinking of you, worried for you, and want to help in any way we can. ❤️

❤️ We’re so proud of our PAMDA instructors and our good friends at The Hub on Martin who are putting their music to work for our community tonight. Twice a month, the Dave Barber Trio, featuring instructors Dave & Kirby Barber, perform their Monday Blues Revue at The Hub and this evening all proceeds are being donated to support wildfire evacuees.

If you’re looking for somewhere to listen to some great music tonight, consider stopping by — and helping support those who have been displaced by the fires. 🎶❤️

💙 MONDAY BLUES REVUE: SUMMERLAND STRONG 💙

Tomorrow night, we’re turning Monday Blues Revue into something a little more meaningful.

Our neighbours in Summerland are facing an incredibly difficult and uncertain time, and like so many people in the South Okanagan, we’ve been thinking about the families, friends, businesses and communities who have been affected.

We may not be able to change what’s happening, but we can show up for one another.

So tomorrow night, Dave Barber Trio is generously donating their entire performance fee, and The HUB on Martin will match donations up to $1,000. All monetary donations raised will go to OneSky Community Resources, helping support those impacted by the wildfire and the many people who rely on their community services.

There is NO COVER for Monday Blues Revue, but we’ll be accepting monetary donations at the door — cash or debit. Every contribution, big or small, will be added to the total.
