We’re excited to welcome the cruise ship back to the Town Dock today! ⚓️

The ship and its passengers will be enjoying Parry Sound and the beauty of Georgian Bay throughout the afternoon, with the vessel scheduled to remain in port until 7:00 PM tonight.

If you’re downtown or along the waterfront, be sure to give our visitors a warm Parry Sound welcome! 👋🇨🇦

While they’re here, our cruise guests have the opportunity to explore our downtown, discover local shops and restaurants, experience our waterfront, and take in a little taste of what makes the 30,000 Islands such a special place to visit.

It’s taken a lot of work behind the scenes by Town staff but we are thrilled to announce that the 1984 movie Hockey Night is going to be shown at the Stockey Centre on October 22!
We are also working on getting some of the locals that were in it to attend.

What does the future hold for the Canadore College campus in Parry Sound? 🏫

A recent feature in Parry Sound Life takes a closer look at what could come next for the campus and why its future matters to the entire West Parry Sound region.

The article explores the growing demand for skilled tradespeople locally, the challenges businesses face when recruiting and training workers, and the opportunity to repurpose the campus as a shared centre for skilled trades training, healthcare education, workforce development and community programming.

It also highlights perspectives from the Parry Sound Builders Association, the Town of Parry Sound and the Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce, including a proposed vision to preserve the property as a long-term educational and community asset rather than lose the infrastructure that already exists.
