Proud To Be Me

Proud To Be Me The "Proud to be Me" Foundation was established in 2011 to help promote positive change and being the best you you can be!

Our vision for the future is a society in which empathy, acceptance, responsibility and opportunity are combined to benefit the individual and also the community at large. The ultimate goal would see our mission spread without boundaries.

💙 Another Friendship Bench Delivered!

We are proud to share that another Proud To Be Me Friendship Bench has found its home at Lester B. Pearson Catholic School.

Our Friendship Bench program is designed to create a simple yet powerful way for students to connect. If a child is feeling lonely, needs a friend, or just wants someone to talk to, they can sit on the bench as a signal that they could use some company. It’s a reminder that no one should feel alone.

Thank you to the staff, students, and school community at Lester B. Pearson for embracing this initiative and helping us continue to build more inclusive, supportive, and connected school environments.

Together, one bench at a time, we’re creating spaces where kindness, friendship, and belonging can thrive. 💙

💙 Donor Spotlight: Michael Hauschild 💙

At Proud To Be Me, we are incredibly fortunate to have supporters who continually step up to make a difference in our community. Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Michael Hauschild.

For years, Michael has been a valued supporter of our annual gala, generously donating unforgettable live auction dinner experiences and joining us each year to help raise critical funds for youth empowerment and anti-bullying initiatives.

Now, Michael is taking on a new challenge for another important cause.

On October 3, he will step into the ring for Fight for the Cure Ottawa, a charity boxing event supporting the Cancer Centre at The Ottawa Hospital. Since March, Michael has been training five days a week while working toward an ambitious fundraising goal of $75,000.

Cancer has touched Michael’s family personally, and he’s turning that experience into action by helping fund cancer care and research that will benefit patients and families throughout our community.

We are proud to support community leaders like Michael who consistently give back and inspire others to do the same.

If you’d like to support Michael’s journey, please consider making a donation or sharing his campaign with your network.

Thank you, Michael, for your years of generosity and for continuing to make a positive impact in Ottawa. 👏

What a beautiful evening. ❤️

To everyone who attended Proud To Be Me’s Gratitude Dinner, thank you. Your support, generosity, and belief in our mission mean more than words can express.

Because of this incredible community, we can continue empowering youth, supporting schools, funding impactful initiatives, and reminding young people that they matter.

A special thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, donors, partners, and guests for making A Night in Tuscany such a memorable success.

Here’s a small preview of the evening… more photos coming soon! 📸✨

A beautiful afternoon spent honouring a life that made a difference.

Today, we were privileged to be a small part of the life celebration and vigil for Peter Clark, who tragically lost his life over 40 days ago while working as a crossing guard.

In his memory, Proud to Be Me donated a Friendship Bench to the school he faithfully served, a place where students can connect, feel supported, and be reminded of the kindness Peter showed every day.

Amanda’s tribute to her husband was incredibly moving. She spoke with such love and warmth, you felt like you knew him personally.

It was powerful to see so many fellow crossing guards, volunteers, and community members come together to honour someone who gave so much of himself to others.

Peter’s impact will continue to live on in this community, in the students he protected, and now through a space that encourages connection and belonging. 💙
