Clean air is essential for lung health, plain and simple.

Clean Air Day (today!) and World Environment Day (Friday) are both reminders that the air we breathe directly shapes how we live and feel. For people with asthma, COPD and other lung conditions, cleaner air can mean fewer symptoms or flare-ups and a better quality of life.

That’s why we continue to advocate for stronger air quality standards and policies that reduce pollution, while also supporting efforts to ensure Canadians breathe safe, healthy air indoors and outdoors.

Let’s protect what protects us by supporting cleaner air in our communities and taking action where we can!

What action will you take to help improve air quality where you live?

Lung disease remains one of the leading causes of death and disability in Canada, touching families in every community. That’s why we proudly laced up for the Tamarack Run in Ottawa this past weekend, coming together to raise critical funds that will help Canadians breathe easier and live healthier lives.

And what a weekend it was! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, teammates, friends and family, we surpassed our fundraising goal.

To everyone who donated, cheered us on and supported our runners along the way: thank you. Your support is making a real difference, and we truly couldn’t have done it without you!

A good support system is important to help smokers get through withdrawal symptoms and stay motivated about their choice to quit smoking for good. 🚭

Ultimately, the decision to quit needs to be made by the person who smokes. But by providing positive support and understanding, you can help someone through it.

It’s more common than you think, and often mistaken for a cold. 🫁

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infects the lungs and airways and can affect people of all ages, but it’s especially common in infants and young children. In fact, almost all children have had RSV by age three.

RSV season typically runs from late fall to early spring. And while repeat infections can happen throughout life, symptoms are often milder after the first infection, especially in older children and adults, where it may look like a common cold.

Knowing the facts is the first step in protecting vulnerable lungs. In early April, Health Canada updated their guidance related to RSV vaccinations for older adults and infants.
