The Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival (SSIF) is a FREE, family-oriented event that truly represents the cultural diversity of our urban indigenous community by showcasing First Nations, Métis and Inuit organizations and artists. Festival highlights include an International Competition Pow Wow; musical performances, the online Indigenous Marketplace, culinary programs and workshops, family fun an

d cultural experiences, arts and crafts, demonstrations and workshops, as well as learning opportunities and resources for students and teachers. An Indigenous Arts event with national significance, SSIF is proud to present a world-class showcase that fosters incredible energy and instills pride in the rich cultures of Canada’s First People. We acknowledge that Mādahòkì Farm is located on the traditional and unceded territories of the Algonquin peoples and their descendants.

Marking 150 years since the Indian Act, these new immersive pavilions at invite visitors to learn, reflect, and take their place on the path to reconciliation.

Explore three interactive spaces that examine Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being, the lasting impacts of the Indian Act, and pathways toward reconciliation through ReconciliACTION. Through stories, visuals, and hands-on experiences, visitors are encouraged to deepen their understanding of this legislation and its ongoing effects on Indigenous communities.

Join us to engage with Indigenous perspectives, honour resilience, and be part of meaningful conversations about truth, understanding, and reconciliation.
