What an incredible turnout at our Indigenous Youth Firefighter Bootcamp!
This 3-day hands-on adventure gave youth an unforgettable experience + real-world skills in structural and wildland firefighting.
Shoutout to all our trainers, and to our amazing mentees from the Indigenous Firefighter Training program who passed down knowledge and proved a career in firefighting is within reach.
A HUGE thank you to our partners: ACCESS // Aboriginal Community Career Employment Services Society, Vancouver School Board "Horizon's Program", Vancouver Fire Rescue Services, and every student who showed up and dove in.

We are heartbroken to share the loss of our friend and colleague Neill Moroz.

After a distinguished career with Kamloops Fire Rescue, Neill graciously continued sharing his knowledge and expertise with FNESS and the many First Nations communities we serve.

His willingness to mentor, guide, and generously share his experience made him an exceptional leader, teacher, and friend.

Thank you, Neill, for your dedication to building stronger fire safety and wildfire preparedness in First Nations communities.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Neill. You will be greatly missed.
