Stay safe, stay warm, and watch out for things that go bump in the night! 🦇🕷️

Our Jiibay Wiikaongewin (Feast of the Dead) is happening next Wednesday, November 4th. It will be held at 980 Cassells Street, in the Gymnasium. It will start at 6:00 PM.

The ceremony will be conducted by Perry and Laurie McLeod-Shadogesic.

You are invited to honour and remember a loved one who has journeyed to the spirit world.

Bring a dish of food in their honour - a favourite food of your loved one or a dish of your choice - along with a to***co tie.

Please cover your food with a lid, container, or cloth.

IMPORTANT: We feast those who have been gone for one full year or more.

This is a potluck-style ceremony. Please bring enough to share, but not too much, as we ask that all food prepared for the feast be eaten.

Come together with us to remember, honour and feast our loved ones.

Congratulations to Maggie Horsfield, North Bay’s first female Mayor!

The North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre extends our heartfelt congratulations to Maggie Horsfield on this historic achievement.

We are proud to recognize Maggie’s support of NBIFC and her ongoing involvement with the Centre and the community. We especially appreciate her presence at events such as the Orange Shirt Day Walk, where community members come together in reflection, remembrance, and solidarity.

This is an important moment for the City of North Bay, and we are encouraged by the relationships that help strengthen our community. We look forward to continuing to build positive connections and to working together toward a city where Indigenous voices are heard, cultures are honoured, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
