Big changes don't happen overnight, and they don't have to.

In this weeks Bring It To The Surface wellness insight, Clint shares an important reminder: improving your mental health and wellbeing starts with small, consistent actions.

Instead of trying to completely overhaul your lifestyle, focus on changing one habit at a time. Something as simple as drinking a glass of water each morning can become the positive first step toward building a healthier routine.

Small habits. Consistent effort. Lasting change.

International Self-Care Day reminds us that looking after ourselves isn't a luxury, it's part of staying healthy, safe, and resilient.

Working in mining and drilling can be physically and mentally demanding. That's why self-care isn't just about taking time off. It's about the everyday habits that help us perform at our best.

Take time today to prioritize rest, stay hydrated, fuel your body, connect with a loved one, and check in with yourself.

The strongest crews are built on people who know it's okay to take care of themselves.

This is our why.

Bring It To The Surface was founded following a difficult conversation within our industry that emphasized the importance of talking openly about mental health and wellbeing.

Since then, we've continued to learn just how many people are affected. 90% of people in our industry have experienced mental health challenges.

That number is a reminder that these conversations matter.

Our goal is to create an industry where people feel supported, where asking for help is seen as a strength, and where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health.

Together, we can continue breaking the stigma and building a stronger, healthier mining and drilling community.

Every conversation has the power to make a difference.

Bring It To The Surface began with a simple but important conversation about loss, mental health, and the need for change within the drilling and mining industry.

Today, that conversation has grown into an initiative dedicated to creating a stronger, healthier, and more connected community, one where mental health is talked about openly, support is encouraged, and no one feels they have to face challenges alone.

Whether you're a worker, employer, family member, or industry partner, you have a role to play in creating psychologically safer workplaces and helping break the stigma surrounding mental health.

This page will share stories, resources, industry highlights, and practical tools to keep the conversations going.

Change doesn't happen all at once, it starts with a conversation.
