In February, our program featured an interactive Introduction to Felting workshop. There was plenty of anticipation as members looked forward to trying their hand at a new way of incorporating wool into their projects!
We began with a brief background on felting, followed by an overview of the process. Before long, everyone was eager to get started. Wool quilt batting, stencils, tools , with a colourful selection of roving were passed out, and members could choose between two cheerful designs—pansies or balloons. It was wonderful to see everyone’s creativity come to life, with each piece as unique as its maker. Thank you to all who participated and helped make the afternoon such a success. Be sure to check out the photos to see the beautiful work our members created!

Did you think we’d spun ourselves into silence?
Not a chance 😊
While our page has been quiet these past few months, our guild members have still been busy at their wheels and looms—creating, experimenting, and sharing behind the scenes.
From beautiful handspun yarns to intricate woven pieces, there’s been no shortage of creativity when it comes to textile!
We’re excited to reconnect here and share more of what we love.

It’s been a wonderfully busy few months for our members. When we returned from our summer break in early October, we jumped right back in with an engaging Show & Tell and a new program session. This month’s activity focused on upcycling scrap fabric into twine — a colourful, eco-friendly alternative to traditional cord. It’s perfect for wrapping gifts, making bracelets or other jewelry, crocheting rugs and baskets, and so much more.

Members also shared a beautiful array of handmade items, including scarves, knitted sweaters & mittens (with some yarn spun by the makers themselves!), and a cozy baby blanket. It was an inspiring start to our fall season.
