Rivers West District would like to congratulate and thank Jim & Myrna Foster, recipients of the 2026 Outstanding Literacy Advocates Community Champion Award!

This award recognizes their dedication to promoting literacy and sharing the joy of reading in the Rosetown community. Through their years of volunteer service, they have made books more accessible and brought joy to many.

Congratulations, Jim & Myrna, and thank you for making such a wonderful difference in your community through your love of literacy!

Jim & Myrna Foster have been dedicated champions of literacy in the Rosetown community for many years. Myrna served on the Rosetown Library Board for several decades as the representative for the RM of St. Andrews, demonstrating her longstanding commitment to making reading accessible to all.

For the past 15 years, Jim and Myrna have continued to make a meaningful difference by volunteering their time each month to deliver totes of books to local care homes. Their kindness and dedication ensure that residents have ongoing access to reading materials and the joy that books bring.

Their visits are about so much more than delivering books. Residents eagerly look forward to seeing their friendly faces, sharing a smile, and enjoying the personal connection they bring. Together, Jim and Myrna have made a lasting impact through their generosity, compassion, and commitment to promoting literacy in their community.
