🧡 The Search Continues

Beginning next week, we will resume ground searches north of Delmas to complete the work that was left unfinished in May.

We invite community members to join us. Whether you would like to volunteer with GPR operations, share knowledge about areas that should be searched, or simply learn more about this important initiative, your support is welcome.

When the search is complete, we will host a Feast to honour all survivors and to remember the children who never returned home from Thunderchild Residential School. Together, we will share a meal, offer prayers, and honour the lives and memories of those affected.

More details will be shared soon. Thank you to everyone who continues to support this important journey of truth, remembrance, and healing.

🧡 Stay tuned for updates. 🧡

This past weekend's Gymkhana was filled with friendship, culture, healing, and community spirit.

We were honored to have Senator Jenny Spyglass open the event with prayer and meaningful comments about how horses played a significant role in her healing journey from the trauma and emotional pain she experienced as a survivor of Delmas Residential School.

It was encouraging to see Indigenous and non-Indigenous people come together to acknowledge the truth of our shared history and support one another on the path toward healing and reconciliation.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, participated, and showed their support. It was truly a memorable day.

📢 Project Update: Thunderchild (Delmas) Residential School Research Project

Our team continues to build and expand our student database. To date, we have entered 604 former pupils, with records that often include names, birth dates, admission and discharge years, parents' names, band and treaty numbers.

This information has been gathered from historical records, quarterly reports, applications for admission, physical examination reports, and correspondence between Indian Agents and school principals.

We still have a significant amount of information to add, including Treaty Annuity Payment records, Birth Registries, and other historical documents. Our research is ongoing, and we continue to search for additional sources.

We need your help. We are still requesting:
• Interviews with former students and family members
• Funeral cards and memorial documents
• Photographs of living or deceased former Thunderchild (Delmas) Residential School students
• Any records, documents, or information that may help preserve and strengthen this history

Every piece of information helps us build a more complete record and honor the experiences of former students and their families. Please reach out if you can contribute.

🙏 Thank you for your continued support
