We had a blast at our last Repair Cafe Event down at Lakeside! Thanks to all our volunteers and people who came by with an item needing a repair. It was a successful day with 102 items brought in (81% repair success rate)!

Our next event will be in September so stay tuned for updates.

Our next Repair Cafe event is tomorrow June 27th from 10AM-3PM. Come on down to Lakeside between the tennis courts and playground to get your items fixed. Rain or shine our volunteers will be happy to chat and take a look at your items!

The next Repair Cafe event is coming on Saturday June 27th at Lakeside! Come on down for our first "outdoor" Repair Cafe event. Our team of skilled volunteers will be on hand to help you repair and reuse your belongings, reducing waste, and promote sustainability in our community. As always, this is a free event!

We’re shining a spotlight on our amazing collaborators — this time featuring the Selkirk Technology Access Centre (STAC)!
The Selkirk Technology Access Centre is a local innovation hub that helps solve tough problems with high-tech tools. From 3D scanning and prototyping to drone mapping and smart data analysis, STAC supports businesses, creators, and communities in turning ideas into real solutions.
We’re excited to have their team on site, showing how high-tech tools and smart design can power repair, sustainability, and local ingenuity. 💡🔧

As we get closer, we’re shining a spotlight on our amazing collaborators — starting with the Rossland Refactory!
The Rossland Refactory is a community-driven plastics recycling hub based in the Rossland/Trail area, operated by the Kootenay Outdoor and Environmental Learning Society (KOELS). They turn waste into opportunity — collecting, processing, and transforming plastics into useful items, all while supporting hands-on environmental education and local innovation.
We’re excited to have their team on site, showing how repair and recycling work hand in hand to build a more sustainable future. 🌱

Our next Repair Cafe will take place on April 4th, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Nelson District Rod & Gun Club — proudly participating in the Nelson Earth Days celebration. 🌍✨
We’re pleased to welcome guest organizations including the Rossland Refactory, Selkirk Technology Access Centre, and Ride All Day Repairs, who will be on site sharing their expertise in repair and sustainable technology.
Come fix, learn, connect, and celebrate our planet — one mended item at a time. 🛠️🌱

Wondering how we fund our events? Recently we received a grant from the Kootenay Co-op, which helped us with our first few events in 2026. We have also been grateful for donations from attendees, and an Osprey Small Neighbourhood Grant in 2025.

Here are some of the stats from our first Repair Café Nelson event of 2026!
Thanks to all the volunteers and everyone who brought items by — it was a great turnout.
We saw a lot of electronics and appliances this time, with fewer textiles than usual.

Our next event is scheduled for April 4th, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Nelson District Rod & Gun Club. This one’s part of the Nelson Earth Days celebration, and we’re expecting guest organizations like the Rossland Refactory and Selkirk Technology Access Centre to join us and share their work.
