At Nanaimo Foodshare, we support people to develop a passion, interest and commitment to healthy, local food in children, their families and the communities they are in. We are committed to helping people develop the skills they need to increase food s

ecurity, build community and be self-sufficient. Our aim is to educate and empower by sharing not just food – but also information, resources, and new opportunities. Youth training in horticulture/agriculture or small scale food service. Career exploration in agri-food sectors. Understand the importance of food security and locally grown products. Learn how to prepare nutritious meals. Share your resources, your knowledge and food from your garden. Our programs offer something for everyone – individuals, families, adults and children.

📢 PROGRAM NOTICE – LABOUR DAY

In recognition of Labour Day, the Nanaimo Foodshare Society office will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026. There will also be no Monday Lunch Together (MLT) program that day.

📅 Office reopens: Tuesday, September 8, 2026

Another successful day of "Monday Lunch Together" with Cultivating Abilities (Batch 11) on Monday, August 24. With the guidance of Chef Gerry our participants successfully served 80 meals and looked like they were enjoying every minute of the process.

We have lots of fresh, delicious produce available. 945 Park Ave. Bring your own bag! Available: Tomatoes, Radishes, Cucumbers, zucchini, corn, turnips, beans, pappers, basil, eggplant, parsley!
